My Immortal makes me cry nearly every time I listen to it (always has done). 4am came out just as I finally split with my ex and summed up how I felt at that exact time. The new Evansesnce song is painful to listen as its again how I'm feeling at the moment but it is quite uplifting as well.

Many songs remind me of something - be it an old flame, a good drive, an argument, or the weather.

Bad memories get easier with time, chief :).

I had a few, but I kept listening to them anyway, and eventually although the bad memory was still there, it's stopped bothering me.

There are 3 of them that I remember, but 2 are Greek so there's no point in listing them. The other one is:
"A tale that wasn't right" by Helloween.

I'm the opposite, the one's that give me bad memories are the one's I like to listen to. Helps me cope with some things. Bit weird.

I'm kind of like that, too. It can be very cathartic.

Ooh Child by Nina Simone and Billy Bragg's At My Window Sad and Lonely are the two that spring immediately to mind. More bittersweet memories than bad, now, really.

    Certainly.

There are quite few songs that remind me of friends who've passed away, but I enjoy hearing them. It's helpful.

    Snow Patrol - Run.

Which is GAY, because it's one of my favourite songs, but it now reminds me of two entirely separate things which make me sad ;(.

Otis Redding - Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, and anything by Keane. The Keane thing is ok though, because they are a bit shit anyway so I don't tend to listen to them ever.

    I get like that.

I'm not really good with Christmas songs though.

Not because I was locked in my bedroom as a kid and deprived of turkey or that, but I always think about absent friends and stuff at Christmas, y'know?

i used to have a lot but Ive moved on (were songs with an ex) so they dont bother me anymore. But I do HATE the bible verse " though i walk through the shadows of the valley of death i will fear no evil.... " because when my uncle was dying in the hospital and all the doctors were running around my cousins were screaming on the floor crying and my dad was reading that over and over to his brother and I just stood paralyzed in the corner. I still get nightmares about it. :(
 thats awful. Im sorry you went through something like that.

I just hate listening to certain songs because then I get a horrible hurt in my stomach.

After seeing this thread, I deliberately downloaded a bunch of songs that reminded me of something slightly upsetting.

My best friend has been down earlier (this sad event also involved her) and once we were slightly tipsy, I put windows media on. Stupidly, I clicked the worng playlist and it started playing "song I haven't rated" or something of the general description that included all the songs i'd downloaded the other day....

OH THE TEARS. We're sober now :crying:

When I hear a song that an ex loved it reminds me of him which isn't the best thing but I still love the song but that doesn't answer the questions hehe.

i can get really emotional over songs, since i just split from my ex there are a load of songs i cant even bare to type since they will remind me of her. The ex before the last i guess Foo Fighters - Everlong, and The Stills - Still in love song remind me a lot, Everlong i still cant listen to now.

most songs that bring up bad memories are of exs, all others songs remind me of happier times but even then they can make me sad as i think "Where have those days gone?"

Music people can remind me also, can remember being stoned on a beach listening to John Peel, music was so surreal it was brilliant!
