I need some help (and not just psychologically). I'm 30 years old and have recently (about 2 months) split up from my 19 year old ex-girlfriend of a year and it kills !!
I'm trying to get back into the dating scene and am currently texting a girl who I've seen once and got on really well with (although it was a drunken karaoke night) and now we're arranging to go out on a date this weekend. She's 23 (I'm not bragging) and I'm worried about how to make a good impression on a first date, i.e. what to do and where to take her. I've read threads on here and you all seem like very helpful people so now I'm pleading with you to help me !!
I live in Blackpool so you would have thought that there was a lot to do but I don't want the usual first date things or anything too cheesy. I was thinking of hiring a barge and going down the Liverpool / Leeds canal stopping at pubs on the way or going for a meal followed by the legends show at the theatre here, but after that I'm stuck for "ORIGINAL" ideas !!!
Please help !

Oh and remember, the setting itself is never the most important thing. If you're with the right person, you can have fun sat on a bench on the street (but don't do that for your date).
Oh if you're after the over the top romantic date, driving to a nice restaurant/pub in the country might be nice (expensive hire car optional - or compulsory if your car is really shit). Depends a bit on the weather though.
Do something simple, the best and most memorable dates aren't about what you do or where where you go, they are about the person your on the date with, and if your with a person you click with then the most perfect date could be something as simple as eating an ice cream on a park bench.
I was thinking that too, the whole barge thing would seem like you're trying too hard I reckon.
Couple of drinks, something to eat, walk along the pier = happy days :thumb:
