getting a flatter stomach in about 2weeks

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
i am happy with my weight, just working at toning up my body at the mo, but i need tips on getting a flatter stomach. I avoid fizzy drinks and do 30 sit-ups a day. but im rprone to bloting+retaining water, especially at that time of the month. Problem is, im going out in 2 weeks+wearing a lovely new dress i bought, which fits fine. BUT, seeing as how im due on then, i know il have a podgy stomach. Is there anything i can take/do/eat to get rid of it+reduce the bloating?
cheers

Cutting down on salt is what always makes the most difference for me.

Seems like daft advice since drinking lots bloats you up, but try and keep your body hydrated with lots of water in the coming fortnight, it'll make a difference. Then all the usual stuff like cutting out ready meals and all that pre-made shit with all its additives, salt and sugar (which is also a big culprit where bloating is concerned).

Make sure you've got good posture, too, that makes a heck of a difference to lasses look in a dress, for sure!

Hmm, but despite what Daniel Cleaver might think, they are SO not sexy if you start getting jiggy at the end of the night

A corset could be sexy, but expensive!

you can buy something called 'Aquaban' from a pharmacy. it has an active ingredient which is supposed to reduce bloating. there are also herbal remedies available.

In my case, when I go from eating massive meals, to littler meals, my stomach shrinks.

If your eating big meals, trying splitting them up.

I would think that aerobic exercise would help in alleviating at least some of the bloating. Try going for a 3-5 km jog.

so then really all it does is make you lose water weight?
yes, its for water retention (bloating) which is very common when a woman is on her period .

Aquaban or any water rention tablets, loads of plain water to kepp your system up, cut back on the salt and processed foods etc. If all else fail geta pair of bridget jones, they do wonders.

A pair of hold it all in knickers as worn in the film, known as Bridget Jones over here.

Just a tip... Aquaban makes you really really dehydrated. I spoke to a nurse about it recently and she hates the stuff and would warn any woman off it.

Pretty much yeah. HIT directics work by helping you get rid of excess water in your body which can cause bloating round the stomach exp. at that time of the month.
