What car would you recommend for my dad? He's after a good reliable one, big enough to fit 4/5 people in and for around £8000. The last 3 he's had have been Citroens but he's after something different.
ETA: we're all adults that'll be in the car.

Or, a Kia Magentis...
how often will you all be in the car? coz dad has a VW Golf gti, and i like it (he doesnt but thats irrellevent! ) and there is plenty of room to have 4 in all the time, but i think 5 ould be a squish!
There's a few estates there, which would probably be more apt for 5 adults and their luggage.
I'd recommend an estate for luggage space or possibly a 7-seater like a Ford Galaxy or Vauxhall Zafira where you can remove the 3rd row of seats for extra boot space.
A6 Avant
Paticularly watch for stuff thats 'nearly new' - 6-9 months old with 10k mileage on it - nearly always ex.rental - hence fucked.
Volvo V40 - My Dad's got one and it's gorgeous. Causes a stir and fits 5 adults :thumb:
Same with Civic.
The Accord is fine, and the Volvo, although I am not sure what kind of a stir that Volvo causes (;)), If you don't mind a people carrier, than Zafira is good, cheap to run , well equipped, the Galaxy is nice, esp the 2.5 V6 one, but it's driving position is rubbish and it's unstable when cornering.
You can also get a nice Grand Cherokee for that money, which woould be my personal choice actually.
Surely they can get a Superb for £8k...
Passat
Zafira
Galaxy
Sharan
Alhambra
Or are you just a really enthusiastic googler?
Grand Voyager
Saab 9-5 (similar lines to a Volvo)
Nope, wouldn't mind though.
