i'm seeing that more myself too! i think it's with women trying to be more independent and realising that at a young age not many lads want to settle down so we may aswell play them at their game.
and to those people that are like 'omg shit i've been single 18 years': would you really count a 3 day relationship you might've had when you were 5?
I personally wouldn't; to me that's not what i'd class as a 'proper' relationship.

what i'm trying to say is while you moan that you've been single all your life if you think about it you haven't really because there are ages when you don't really have relationships.

Couple of months for me, but that only lasted a month or so. I'm into someone at the moment too, but I'm planning on moving to Manchester in September/October time, and she's going to uni, so I don't see any point in exploring that further (for want of a better phrase). Don't plan on getting a girlfriend within the next six months or so either, until I set up my life there. Which means I'm bound to meet the love of my life and fuck it all up somehow.

Nah my mate's buying a flat and he's gonna have a spare room, and I want a job making TV programmes. Not many of them where I live at the moment. So I'm gonna move in with him and use all his contacts in the TV business (all three of them).
I was just thinking this as I was reading over this thread - "I've been single for 18 years" means a lot more if you're 40 than if you're 18. It makes more sense realistically to say you've been single since whatever age you were when you started being interested in the opposite (or same) sex. Personally a statement like "I'm 20, been single for 6 years" makes more of an impact that "I've been single for 20 years" because it shows how long you've wanted a relationship rather than just how old you are and haven't found the right person yet.
