Computer Stories

Ever found something you didn't wanna find on someone's computer? Anyone find something you didn't want them to find on yours?
Naughty pictures?
Love letters?

I was using my parent's computer when I went home from uni over the summer. Casually, I went to use Google. I went to type something in when I discovered that someone had been looking for erotica and sex shops in Edinburgh. Hmmm...

Yeah, there's a love letter on the main computer in the house. Quite funny actually - not the letter, but the fact that she, my sister, is that stupid that she'd save it. Oh, the embarrassment would kill her if she knew it's still on here.

    :p

Similar to the OP, once I found previous searches for porn on my dad's computer.

But I think it had some adware on the time, so maybe it wasn't his... Who knows/cares really?

i've found mature lady porn on my dad's PC before.

on the bright side, it's good that he's sticking to his own age group. i think i'd have been more disturbed if it was barely legal teens or something horrendously filthy.

I went on family computer once to go to a site that started with a b. As soon as I had typed 'www.b' the url address completed itself to 'bareboobs.com'... Could have been my brother or father, don't care really, I've caught both of them watching porn... :yuck:

Yeah. My ex was chatting to a previous shag-partner on Yahoo messenger, and closed the conversation window when I entered the room. I knew something was rather odd, but didn't know who she'd been talking to. She then decided it would be clever to delete the logs.

It took me all of two minutes to retrieve the logs through the other PC(the two were networked), and I emailed the contents to her. The expression on her face was most excellent!

The stupid thing was that this conversation was completely harmless. There wasn't anything in there that I'd disapprove of. What I did disapprove of was the secrecy regarding the whole situation.

I left her a few weeks later, though this wasn't because of her 'secret' chats.

She was so bloody stupid about that. I'd worked in IT for a good few years, and I had quite a few 'resources' availible to me at the time. Through my job, I was tied down under the Official Secrets Act, and was able to enter or leave many government locations regardless of their security level - including prisons during lockdown.

Did she really think that deleting the files was going to help? Had she not closed the window down as I entered the room, I'd not have been suspicious in the slightest. I'd not snooped on her before then, and I wouldn't have had my suspicions not been aroused.

    Women. :)

What did the logs say then? :chin:

I once found loads of photos of my exe's ex on his computer.

Although I didn't think he was doing anything wrong keeping them, I still didn't like seeing them.

At that time, Yahoo ones were. No idea about it these days.

If you have set your messenger program to automatically save them, of course.

Some guy who I have never met in my entire life added me on MySpaz and left dirty messages on my profile. I didn't get a chance to see them or delete them, because my bf found them first.

It was the beginning of our break up. Yay...

But yeah, MSN logs are dangerous!!

My boyfriend still has naked pictures of his ex girlfriend. His ex girlfriend who is our mutual friend.

I don't know if they're still on his computer or not, but if he ever mentions that they may be, I'm going to pinch him til he deletes them.

The only time anyone's ever found anything incriminating on me, is when my stepdad hacked my LJ and read that I'd not been doing revision. The arsehole.

My friend's parents found his LJ. They discovered he was transgendered. And they weren't very happy.

Um... unless I confuse "transgendered" with something else, wouldn't his/her/whichever parents know by looking at him/her/whichever?

    Nopes.

Transgendered people are those who think they are one gender but in the wrong body.
Ie, Looks like a guy, thinks he's a girl and goes by a girl's name.
