I know the weather gets cold over there... so how do hard tops handle? I've always heard storiers of hard top, snap on cars being horrible winter cars as they get cold easily, but everybody that tells me that has never had one, so any experiences?

I think this car sums up Britishness. It's very much similar to the British tradition of getting the socks and sandals out at the slightest hint of sunshine.
Unfortunately though a semi-common issue is leakage during rain. My friend at work has been trying to get his smart roadster fixed for ages, though that doesn't really count.
Are you sure you don't mean soft tops?
Soft-tops don't tend to be all that bad. They leak a bit during heavy rain. When it's cold, it makes no odds whether you're in a soft-top or not - even with a hard roof attachment. You'll be cold until the heater starts providing you with hot air .
good god i have just confused myself there...i know what i mean ill get a pic
ta da!
I think part of the problem is they're usually pretty expensive cars and if they have a solid hard roof they usually take up all the boot space.
Cant believe BMW soft tops leak!!!!
OMG!
My 13year old Ford Escort never leaked!!! Only when it rained and you put the window down, because theres no groove on the roof to channel it away from dripping down off the sides.
