Whats your favorite comedy sitcom ever!
Heres some my favourites in no particular order (mostly british, cuz..well...lets face it, we're the best :hyper: );

Blackadder (makes me laugh just thinkin about it)
The Office (as above)
Only Fools and Horses (classic.)
Little Britain (hilarious!)
Scrubs (so surreal and stupid!)
Fawlty Towers (cant laugh at them anymore, but very funny)
Monty Python (comedy genius)
Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights (lol)
Bottom (some hate it, I love it!)
I'm Alan Partridge (cringingly funny)
Father Ted (very funny)
Friends (not really that funny, but entertaining)

The ones which I just never got into;

Men Behaving Badly
Absolutely Fabulous
The Royal Family
Gimme Gimme Gimme
Coupling
Porridge
Fraiser

Partridge just HAS to be top.

But also: The Office, Father Ted, Futurama, Frasier, Cheers, Steptoe & son, Family Guy, Nighty Night, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The 11 'o Clock Show, The Fast Show, Porridge, The Day Today, Malcolm in the Middle, Blackadder, Men Behaving Badly, The Young Ones, The League of Gentlemen, Peep Show, The Detectives and there are loads more that just aren't popping into my head right now.

As you can see, my taste is not that discriminating but I do hate Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Two Pints of Lager :yuck: I never got into Black Books, though in theory I thought I should've loved it...

I liked The Royle Family, Peep Show and Men Behaving Badly, can't really think of much else. King of The Hill is quality too.

The programme that made me laugh most was Cold Feet, even though it was a comedy-drama.

Can't abide Little Britain, Bottom or Gimme Gimme Gimme etc.

Hate a lot of American crap like Friends too, any time I hear somebody quote something "funny" someone from Friends said, I want to smack them in the face with a spade.

    And of course -

    Snuff Box
    The Mighty Boosh

I was in the same pub as the chubby one from Peep Show on Friday...

Ooh, one show I'd completely forgotten about was Rock Profile... I used to piss myself laughing at it. Not sure if I'd find it so hilarious now, but at the time it was comedy gold... :thumb:

Red Dwarf. A bit patchy in places, but when it's good, it's really good.

I own every single episode of Only Fools and Horses on DVD :o Blackadder is also one of my other favourites.

I pretty much love a lot of them from the 80's. Theres a few from the 90's i like, but definitely not a fan of more recent stuff. I just can't get into it.

Gimme Gimme Gimme was funny in places but not really a fan of like proper in your face comedy.

Strangely for a lover of comedy, I'm just not that into Fawlty Towers.

Join the club. I'm always made to feel like a traitor to British humour for finding it incredibly dull but I don't care :p

It's not godawful by any stretch of the imagination but it's just not very funny, and I don't think it has stood the test of time well at all.

Agreed. It looks quite dated now.

I think that about a lot of classic comedy that you're supposed to love - like Morecambe and Wise for example - was that ever funny? But I almost daren't voice that opinion for feat of being socially ostracised :p

I can't stand Morecambe and Wise. Nor can i stand most of those old comedians.

Yes filthy rich never got the praise it deserved! :thumb:

I also liked the dangerous brothers, but i don't think that was ever a series on its own, so probably doesnt count.

"There are limits to my comedy. There are things that I’ll never laugh at. The handicapped. Because there’s nothing funny about them. Or any deformity. It’s like when you see someone look at a little handicapped and go ‘ooh, look at him, he’s not able-bodied. I am, I’m prejudiced.’ Yeah, well, at least the little handicapped fella is able-minded....Unless he’s not, it’s difficult to tell with the wheelchair ones.” - David Brent, The Office

I'm quite shocked that things like "farscape" and "two and a half men", are actually even be discussed in the same friggen dimension as comedy genius's like Blackadder, only fools and horses and the office. What is this world coming too

And I think it's shocking that The Office is considered to be comedy genius. (only fools and) Horses for courses.

If I'm allowed to pick American tv stuff then I choose the Aqua Teens (duh) and Harvey Birdman.

For Brit TV; Black Books and Peep Show.
