Using middle names

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Does anybody do this? I feel like I've been fooled or something lol, a few of my friends at uni use their middle names which are more glamarous than their first names. Bit late for me to start doing now though. Just a thought

I only use my middle name if I'm filling in an official form or something. It never feels like part of my name, I'm just plain Heather.

I dont even consider my middle name to have any association with me.

In fact sometimes when people ask it takes me a few seconds to realise.

Therefore if people called me my middle name i doubt i'd answer.

I know some people who use their middle names. Its always weird finding out that their middle name isn't their first name.

My middle name only gets used by my parents if I'm in big trouble :p

I use my middle name along with my first name; but I also know a few people who actually go by their middle name rather than their first name because they prefer it.

I only tend to use my middle name on forms and stuff, quite like my middle name though.

My colleagues call my by first name (they don't even know my middle), parents and family call me by first and second, friends outside work call me by just my middle, and people who know just know me outside work call me by my title and middle.

    Phew!

i had a mate of mine who i'd known on and off for 4 or 5 years that didnt actually know my first or 2nd name.

everyone just calls me koe or koeman, kinda worrying that. considering its not any part of my name.

Fine, reject my perfectly nice offer of making you a middle name out of play-doh. :grump:

It was going to be something REALLY good but I'm not going to tell you now.

My middle name is so much nicer than my first name, wish I had started this back in primary school, bah. Though us catholics have a few to spare if anyone needs one.

Do you get a catholic middle name when you are confirmed?

Yeah, you choose a confirmation name. The most [and only] vaguely exciting or interesting thing about getting confirmed, imo :p

Yea, I've got two middle names. Confirmation name is boring (to me) because it had to be a saint - Elizabeth. Saoirse was the one the parentals gave me.

Aha, that's why I don't have one then. I made it as far as taking my first communion, but I stopped going to Church after that.

nowt wrong with elizabeth as a middle name :grump:

i don't use either of mine, as my first name and surname are both stupidly long, so i'd be there forever. personally i'm just glad i didn't land the ridiculous polish middle name my mum wanted.

i know quite a few people who use their middle names as first names. it's fair enough, i guess, if you like them more.

Mines like not really a middle name but joined onto my first, like Collette Rachel, i use Collette Rachel on msn and stuff, but the only person who calls me that is my father.
