Really local weather

On ITV news, the weather map was labelled with 'Osbaldwick', a small village (driving test centre ... urgh) just outside York, and 'Acomb' just outside York on the other side. BBC news are labelling small places as well, is this a Northern thing? Have they just started doing this? York and Newcastle seem to have disappeared as far as the weather maps are concerned. At home the nearest label we get is Birmingham!

In the northeast, Senile Bob (my personal nickname for him) jumbles up the letters of some obscure places so the weathermap is full of anagrams! Whatever floats your boat, Bob. :yeees:

Osbaldwick and Acomb had thunderstorms today. So did York, not that you'd know it from the weather map!

I can't remember. I may just be thinking of Poppleton again. I need a map ...

Edit: I was thinking of Poppleton twice. Before you laugh, there are two: Upper Poppleton and Nether Poppleton. ;)
