Can't wait! HAven't even passed my test yet, but am looking at buying a Suzuki Alto GL- Red colour, with an '03 reg plate. Will be like a first car-type-thing! Can't wait til I see the beauty again on Saturday!!!

Anyone got one, or heard anything good/bad about them?
Ta!

What's wrong with them then? I've only seen good reviews when searching on the internet.

Yeah, it may look like a granny's car, but, it's coming as a present with a couple of years worth insurance with it- so I ain't complaining!

way to piss on her bonfire you lot...

    :(

    Sorry.

I shouldn't be judging this was my second car, only in periwinkle :yuck: though at least it wasn't a hatchback

So you cannot go wrong with a free car and free insurance. I'm happy for you. Yay to being motorized!

Exactly! I'm certainly not complaining, is for my 18th- which isn't until October, but still, if they want me to have it now, I'm not going to say no lol.

Yeah, cheers ScarlettLeeds, was a little bit 'ohhh' when I read it, but it's my own fault too, I did ask for bad comments (hindsight- maybe not the best of ideas lol)

I'm still quite happy about it though, is a '03 plate, with 5 doors, electric windows, CD player... and most importantly- a cup holder :D

Cheers for the responses anyway :)

It's not a bad car - it's just not that good either. We're just being honest.

I've always thought it's better to get an older car for a first car.

 you remind me, my first car, cup holders were actualy an option on it!!
    What was that like
    manual or auto?
    leather or cloth?
    cupholder or not?

Don't go crashing it now ;) Is insurance expensive there?

Yeah, I appreciate your honesty- thankyou!

Yeah, they wanted to buy me a newer car- cos if I bought an old car, means that it may fall apart sooner etc.

Well, it's in a group 3 insurance thingy appartnately, the insurance is about £2,500 for me on my own, but through my Dad as the first driver, and me as a second driver it's only about £1,500.

I'm really nervous bout crashing it lol!

Bah, go somewhere good. Tenby, Edinburgh, Peak district - a car gets you mobile. Why only go a few miles down the road? ;)

A cars a car, if its anything like bikes, youll probably not be overly fond of your first one anyway. I mean, at first it will be 'wow' but then it will be this ugly thing you dont like, but deep down you do like it cos you're used to it, like a long term lover or something. But yea.

Congratulations :) I'm too tired to make sense really... ignore if anyone says 'its a rubbish car' because at the end of the day - it's a car! Think of how many people don't have cars and want them. Stupid girls with their cheap insurance. :grump:

I take back what i said earlier. I think it's a perfectly good little run a round for a first car. :thumb: Good luck with your test.

Can see myself being able to relate to the long term lover thing, I've already told the boyf he's been replaced lol.

Debating whether to keep my car because it rarely gets used, costs a fortune to tax and insure and it takes up space in the drive. But I enjoy driving it so much!
