Should I just leave it?

About a month and a half ago now I left my job.

When I first started up there, £30 was taken away from my first pay cheque as a deposit for my work uniform.

When I left I returned my uniform and I was told that the £30 would be put into my bank account. To be honest, its been that long now I've doubt they've even still got my bank details!

I've still not got it back. I've rang gawd how many times.

Shall I give up or shall I just give asking them for it?

I know its only £30 but I dunno, the fact I'm entitled to it is bugging me.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

£30 could feed me for 2-3 weeks, look at it that way!

you're entitled to it therefore you should nag (which you shouldn't have to) until you get back what is rightfully yours.

why don't you speak to someone who is higher up than the person who is supposed to be dealing with it now.

Aye, £30 is nothing. Don't worry about it.

Can you mail me a cheque for £30 please?

I don't know anybody else who is higher. They wouldn't give me the details for them anyways.

I've just rang again and they claimed he was in a meeting as soon as I mentioned my name

No its not Mc'Donalds. We didn't pay for our uniform there.

    No its here....www.thestrandpreston.co.uk

I've been talkin to the manager about it all. There is someone above him but I don't know his name. He's really messing me around. It wouldn't be worth taking to court would it over £30?

i doubt it'd end up in court if you threatened it to them.

The person who always answers the phone always asks for my name.

It is independently owned I think by someone above him.

The manager isn't going to going to give me the details for his boss is he?

    Bug him and bug him.

Are you not able to take this to a tribunal instead of court?

If you can bug him enough without it bothering you then do so. It really will come down to who has the most time to waste on it. If you spend 30 quids' worth of effort getting the money back then you've not gained anything...

What is the small claims court?
What is covered by the procedure?

Claimants can use the procedure to recover unpaid bills, rents or refunds of rental deposits for property, overpayments of bills to power companies and other utilities. As a general rule, a person has a legitimate claim if someone owes them money and is refusing to pay-up. All you need is proof that the debt exists - a document or reliable witnesses.

send 'em a letter, one to the guy you've been dealing with by name and one to his manager, mentioning in the letter that you've cc'd to the manager.

Well I rang him last night and told him that I wanted my cash by today.

I have just walked down there and I barely got through the door. He took the £30 out of his own wallet and he just said "cya". He was really rude but to be honest, I don't care. I've got my money.

Thank gawd I can actually move on from that place now :D

See, it pays to be an assertive bi...*ahem* person.

My bank took money off me (FOR NO APPARENT REASON  ) the other week, meaning I couldn't pay my bills. I phoned and they tried to fob me off saying it was my fault. I phoned twice more at the end of the day and they told me the manager wasnt in til next week and therefore they couldn't authorise anything.

I went in the next day and demanded my money back. Was in my account before I'd even got home from town. :D The louder you shout and the more you bug them, the more likely they are to get fed up and give in :)
