HSBC glitch delays worker payday
Wonder if HSBC will even apologise. Regardless HSBC should have to pay a £28 ‘late payment’ fee to everybody affected. Only fair if they can rip us off for bouncing a cheque or making a late payment.

I couldn't care less if HSBC gets financially punished for it - that isn't the point.
Yes.
It should work both ways.
in an ideal world ay..
That's crap, a company as big as HSBC, making the profits HSBC make should do what they say they'll do.
Work was fun last week with all this going on. As for the apology, I have seen the press release and it's a pretty feeble "sorry".
I wonder how much interest you get on a two day wait on that kind of cash?
What on earth are you on about?
Pampered for expecting the most profitable bank in the world to not cock up? Hardly.
Would HSBC be lenient if I cocked up and didn't pay my credit card or mortgage because of a "glitch" with my memory? Would they fuck.
As for people being selfish for daring to be running out of money on pay day, you really are utterly clueless. Most mortage companies insist on mortgage payments very early in the month- could you afford two mortgage payments on one month's wage? I couldn't.
As I've said before though, that's what you get if you do business with the triads.
And as for HSBC staff, is it me or are they all thick? I deal with HSBC as part of my work, and they cannot get anything right ever.
they tell they claim to be an efficient money making machine
fact is they're lazy and inefficient and screw you over
Like all banks they have lent out tens of times more than they have taken in and hope they can juggle the books so the whole thing doesn't collapse.
I don't bash companies that do their job properly.
So because the world's biggest bank cannot do a simple job properly, I cannot get any money out to eat or drink or socialise this weekend?
HSBC should be paying compensation, and oodles of it, to every single person affected. It should be in four figures or 30% of the wage, whichever is higher. Because that's what those thieving cunts would do to me if I didn't pay them when I was supposed to.
And as your employment contract is with your employer and not the employer's bank, it should be other big businesses who have the grievance with HSBC. If you want to fine someone, fine the employers who aren't paying their staff when they said they would.
i didnt say they're not making money did i? i jsut said they're lazy sods, they close early every day in comparison to normal shops so you cant visit them after work or school, or after 1 on a saturday
they screw you at every concievable moment, even the paid for cash points they screw you, they say it isnt them, but they're the oens who sold the cashpoints to the private firms
Theres only one bank - the BofE. HSBC is just a front operation for it, same as the others. It's the illusion of competition trick again.
Of course they are thieves. They haven't got any money, just bits of paper saying they do. You take your title deeds, give them a promise to pay, then they give you another promise to pay and on and on. At no point does any money (even legal tender) change hands.
It's all fraud. Fuck em.
My mortgage is with a mutual building society;)
The employers paid the money when they said they would. HSBC fucked up the BACS, not the employer.
HSBC's nose should be ground into the dirt because of this.
Backing this up - the employers have endevored to pay their staff on time using the BACS system. If the system then fucks up it is out of the employers control. If HSBC fuck up their is nothing, being the company accounts staff I can do, bar apologise and bitch to the bank manager. Dont forget that accounts/payroll staff who have tried to get the staff paid on time get paid late as well. Its really not our fault.
