Car pictures in online profile

BillieTheBotBillieTheBot Posts: 8,721 Bot
Always wondered when looking at profiles on the web... faceparty, livejournal, msn etc...

Why do people put pictures of their car in their profiles?

I just don't get it...

is the car part of their personality or something?

Not criticising, cos people do what they want, but just wondering why doing such...
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

Cuz the have nothing better in their life? They think it makes them cool? Your guess is as good as mine. I've wondered that too.
Best when they have a pos and still post pictures of it everywhere.

If you have a COOL or a GOOD car, ok, go for it.

If it's a beat up Fiesta XR2 lookalike with shit bodykit... no. Just no.

i was gonna say that exact thing!

and, most people who post pics on their profiles of cars, instead of pics of themselves are usually mingers. haha. harsh but mostly true.

Why do people post pictures of themselves with their musical instruments. Is the musical instrument part of your personality or something?

Replace musical instruments with room, house, beer, fags, whatever.

    ^^^^

Well that's fair enough if it's a picture of yourself sprawled on the bonnet in a sparkly dress or waving cheekily from the driver's seat Noddy-style (or anywhere in sight, for that matter). When it's just a picture of a car parked up in a driveway it does seem slightly redundant on a site like Faceparty, but to be honest who gives a fuck? It would put me off looking at someone's profile or whatever, but I'm sure they wouldn't lose any sleep over that. :p

In terms of it being of a likeness with pictures of instruments.. as far as I've seen, I don't think people do post a picture of their guitar/drum kit/tuba, unless it's a picture prop or has been taken in action. I could be wrong.

people post pics of their car so that others who appreciate said car know they have something in common... If a person is ugly and their car is purdy, I know which one I'd rather look at.

Has it crossed anybodys mind that some people may be more interested in cars/motorsport than writing a detailed account of their day in college on my space/live journal etc etc whatever they are??

I guess a picture of someone's car is as good an insight into that person as a picture of the person. If you're gonna use faceparty like that...

I don't actually have a faceparty - actually i think i do, i made it for a joke cus Lisa made me or something, and it has a pic of me aged about 5 on it - Before someone tries to throw that card at me. But i really don't see a problem with someone doing it, maybe they just like their car. I know when i look at mine it reminds me of all the places i've been in it and so on, which isn't a bad thing. Plus i suppose sometimes its good to show off that you have a car, just like you might want to show off that you have some new fringe or spotty top to the people you speak to on the net.

They make these super baby seats now that are aerodynamic and add to the down force- wicked for handelling!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
does that mean if you accidently leave the baby on top of the car, then as long as its in its seat, it wont slow the car down?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
accidentally? You're supposed to. You just have to remember to have it the right wy round so that baby can still breathe.
