What is your opinion on the catholic children not being able to go to school the route that they would normally take. You have to bear in mind that protestants aren't allowed into their area and that other human rights have also been taken off protestants such as the right to march. The other thing is that if the mothers and fathers really cared for their children they would take them to school the other way. Whats your opinion?

- They can take their 'right to march around in silly uniforms to commemorate battles that took place several hundred years ago' and they can shove it up their arse. These marches don't aid progress toward peace and only increase the tensions. Not that i'm saying i love the IRA and their bombing of civilians but fer fuck's sake.
Shouting abuse and spitting at small children? Oooh, that takes a real big man.......
These last couple of days have completely disgusted me. Any group of people that would terrorise little school kids like that are scum.
There is a fucking HUGE difference between marching to commemorate a victory in battle against catholics and walking 5 year old girls to their school. Its not even comparable.
I tell you one thing. The Loyalists will have lost a massive amount of support that they once had here on the UK mainland. Anybody who saw the pictures of those animals hurling abuse at little girls could never support people like that again.
both sides in the province need to seriously re-examine what the FUCK they are up to. perhaps the unionists should be a bit more mature in their attitudes to where kids walk to school. then perhaps the catholics would extend a similar gesture to somewhere else. for fucks sake, this is CHILDREN we are talking about, not tanks or even marching bands. as for the marching, yeah its fine to commemorate the past, but everyone knows it kicks up a fuss, so why not tone it down a bit, eh?
this is a situation in which i think you have to remember that children do not have PREJUDICE. it is something they learn from SOCIETY and their PARENTS. so, if the adults and politicians stop acting as if kids walking to school is a horrific violation of someone's rights, perhaps the next generation will have a better chance of securing a real solution.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum
I know that obviously sumthin has been done to cause the protestants to feel like they have been wronged but i fail to c how shouting abuse at innocent children as young as 4 and throwing blast bombs at them is going to get their point across, if anything it loses them any credability they had.
Despite what i've said above, i know that if it wuz my children, i wud not put them thru that just because of my principles or human rights, it wouldn't b worth it.

But then, without our soldiers there to offer protection we will be breaking some EU law on human rights.
Whowhere I don't want to cause an arguement becuz i know u are a valued member of thesite but i think you are being unfair. Yes, there are ppl on both sides who are "fucked in the head" but there are also ppl on both sides who just want to live a normal life in a peaceful community & it is these ppl the police are needed to protect.
hope i haven't offended anyone,

Thanks dreamer, i consider myself to be one of them. I'm a unionist, but a moderate one and i am absolutely enraged by the whole situation. Both the loyalists and republicans are as bad as each other - the former being UNBELIEVABLY petty with their protests and dragging small children into it and the latter despicably using children as pawns in their wider game. It's horrifies me to think of what messages these pictures send out to people elsewhere in the UK and the world. Our country is seriously fucked up, but i nevertheless am proud to come from here. Please understand that we're not all like that.
One is necessary and one is utterly unnecessary and inflammatory and leads to the maintenance of retarded sectarian hatred which harms the majority and benefits the few who manipulate the situation. Again, nationalists are not innocent in this, but surely loyalists must realise that their (unsurprisingly) much publicised reactions will not lead to any kind of positive resolution.
Whoever it was that mentioned the learning of sectarianism by kids makes a very good point. No one is born racist, sexist or sectarian. It is an acquired hatred. From parents, friends, family, peers and other local media. It's vile.
I think the Loyalists are aware of the understandable reaction to what they are doing and the massive propagander(sp?) coup they have given the IRA, but does this not show how desperate things must be for them?
I support neither side in what is happening here.

Have I missed David Trimble's condemnation of this event? Ian Paisley's?
Why anyone on this site could suggest that this event was ochestrated by Sinn Fein/IRA is beyond me. The majority of the acts of violence carried out at the moment are loyalist. The loyalist are holding back the 'peace process' politically too.
'Pathetic' just doesn't go far enough. If they are British then I am ashamed to be associated with them.
If the police and soldiers from england pulled out I doubt that things would get worse...all they have done thus far is facilitate a continuation of hostilities to the boiling point.

There was a guy named Billy (H** cant remember his frickin last name)..Hes a member of one of the larger loyalist organisations. When he first got to the scene he actually said he was ashamed to be a protestant and was disgusted with what went on...Few hours later he came back and retracted his statements..orders from above <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">...Guess it shows that not all of them are false over there.
