Connecting a laptop to record sound from decks/mixer.

Could anyone tell me how (or if it's even possible) to connect my laptop to a DJ mixer, so to record the set straight onto laptop (like a connector wire you could pick up from Maplins or something)? Preferably so that the speakers work as usual also. Is that possible?

get a double ended jack lead ( guitar lead but with the small jacks ) and plug one end into the mixers output and the other to your laptops Line-In(blue) or Mic(pink) plug.

You own the copyright to your mix (not the tunes obviously) and you can put them on your website or share them via P2P and it's fine, you won't get a slap on the wrists.

Start selling them and then your find trouble.

That's how a lot of people start up, how they get their mixes out there. Nothing really wrong with wanting to let other people listen to your mixes!

He's obviously going to be recording his own mixes hence the decks
It's not obvious at all. Lots of people sneak equipment into clubs to record big DJs' mixes.

Most Laptops have a Mic in socket and line out and that's it

I think a line in would give better sound then mic in

But I have a Trust USB sound card as below and the sound quality is actually excellent.

One of the things you don't get with USB Audio is all those pop's and electrical noises you sometimes pick off the PC it'self.
