i'd change it to something a bit chuffing shorter. my first name and middle name are both 9 letters long, and my surname is 10 letters. nightmare on forms and suchlike.

sadly mr. kaff's surname is 9 letters too. there's no escape.

If you don't like your surname, or the surname of whoever you're marrying, you could do what my mum's friends did: Crow + Ball = Corbie apparently.

they're both pretty inoffensive, they're just so long. i get bored halfway through saying my name, and i'm sure other people must doze off listening to it.

apparently another thing people do when they marry is both change their name to something totally different. which is quite a good idea.

but when my work peeps got wind of that idea, they were full of suggestions. the least ridiculous was hasselhoff (nice and short.. :chin: ) so you can imagine the rest.

My name is Turlough Niall Caoimhin Lewis

26 letters I think. I wouldn't change my name for the world. But if I did...I'd call myself

    Hiphop head the second!

Aye it's my confirmation name alright. Yeh Irish for Kevin, pronounced Cay-veen or Quee-veen. Depends on the person/dialect etc etc.

i didn't even count my confirmation name in the 28 letters.... that puts it up to 33.

    ridiculous.

i don't use it though, so i guess it doesn't really count..

if you're catholic, you get confirmed when you're about 13 - it's a sacrament like being christened or married, and you take a new name (the name of a saint) at the time.
