So what do you lot think of this "buying babies over the net?" ! Its terrible&sick! Think of the poor wee babies in all of this they dont know whats going on! And for some couple to go in and buy them of the net "what the hell" stupid people! Speanding all that £ for them, and not getting a penny back! And the MUM that gave them a way...Grrr she makes me mad saying she wants them back <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/mad.gif">! She could have gave them to an adopting adjency, BUT OVER THE NET?! There is alot of SAD,SICK people in the world! I think the babies should be put somewhere, where the family will love and care for them!
What do u lot think???

I think this has been far to over hyped. The English couple haven't committed any crime, morally or in the eyes of the law as they weren't aware that the babies had already changed hands several times. I think they should have been checked out for the suitability to be parents first before they did, but what's done is done. I'd rather see the kids staying with the couple than being shunted back and forth from care home to foster home for the rest of their lives.
or
should parents be checked for suitability before being allowed children
it's not fair to judge parental suitability by a bid on the internet. it's ridiculous and amoral.
there are many things that i would like to say to you, but i dont know how.
Because they may be serial rapists, paedophiles or have mental problems. They may not have enough money to support the children or may be unemployed.
There are hundreds of reasons why parents need to be checked for suitability before they adopt. It is a shame that natural parents aren't given the same checks, it wmay help give some children a better life if they are kept away from sick individuals.
Show me a parent who doesn't have mental problems whowhere lol, it's part of the package.

Where did I mention singke parents and unmarried couples? I didn't, as far as Im concerned they make great parents, my auntie is one of them.
I'm not being a homophobe when I say this but I disagree that children can be raised by same sex parents just as well as opposite sex parents. I don't want to start an argument about this as I only have one reason and that is because of how I feel about the child's future. If he or she has homosexual parents then they are going to get a lot of stick from kids at skool, and lets face it, kids can be evil bastards.
if so, was
an acceptable reason 15 years ago?
That's a good point, and a very good twist of my point, you should be proud. Maybe as attitudes change then it will become accepted, a lot like mixed race children are nowadays. However you still do get a lot of bullying based on racism, black kids have been known to pick on mixed race kids for the same reason that white kids do. My point is a personal opinion with no basis of fact, it is based solely on my moral belief and my attitude. I am not going to argue as to whether or not gay couples can raise a child as well as a straight couple as I am sure they can. However I don't see it as an acceptable form of parenting simply because this is the way I feel. Im sure a lot of people agree/disagree with me, and Im sure 15 years down the line the ratio will change.
I think most teen parents aren't capable of giving a child a proper family life, but I would strongly defend the right for them to do so
Yes, I probably would ban it. Dont ask me why, as I do not know. The subject is really a conflict of interests as I believe that heterosexual familes are the only ones truly capable of bringing up a child. I can probably be proved wrong, but even if I am it wont make me change my mind.
