When you are making mash to go with your chop add some spinach, its stupidly good for you, dirt cheap if you buy the frozen stuff and adds good flavour to the mash.
veg in a stir fry? you can get veg you can microwave too.. obviously its more expensive than buying it and cooking it yourself, but if you're lazy its easy!
Seeing as nicebutdim23 started this thread for me, I'll print some of these recipes out and try them out over the next few days. I'm not looking forward to it, but I suppose I have to start somewhere.
Must admit some of the stuff here sounds absolutely lovely, though.
i made the best noodles ever when i got home from work yesterday and was starving
you need 1 packed of tesco value mild curry supernoodles (8p). cook noodles, drain and mix with seasoning (provided), grated cheese, small spoonful of mayo and lots of black pepper. mix until everything is melted together. yummy cheesy creamy noodles! eat sandwiched between bread and butter if you're more hungry
for about 10p a serving its much cheaper than buying takeaway after the pub and the noodles only take 3 mins to cook!
oh also if you're runnin low on money the noodles are good to use with a stirfry instead of the expensive chinese ones, just throw away the seasoning and add some soy sauce
iv just tried that - it was lush ( had chicken flvour ones tho)
sorry, had to bump this up because i just made the best meal
left over cooked chicken (you could use beef/pork/no meat at all)
pasta
frozen mixed veg
patassa (the tomato stuff in a jar that costs about 50p i cant remember what its called - its not pasta sauce just mushed tomatos)
2 stock cubes
black pepper/ chilli powder/what ever you have lying about
get a lasagne dish
put pasta and the mixed veg in so that it coveres the base, about 3/4 pasta 1/4 veg
mix the 2 stock cubes with a pint 1/4 of boiling water and poar in the dish,
add about 1/4 of a pint of patassa to the bowl,
add left over chicken/ beef / whatever
add chilli powder, pepper, any other herbs and stuff you have,
stir it all up
put in the oven for about an hour stiring occasionaly
if it gets dry add a bit more water until all the pasta is soft.
it makes about 3/4 meals

no but it has more nutrients than no veg at all if you are lazy, i have the steam in the bag stuff :thumb:
yeh guess it's better than having none at all!
and mix them all up, tis great and filling
mash and pasta would be bad enough.
