Hi all. serious question this. Are there any women who have poledanced or are poledancers or who would like to be. i ask this because my female friend wants to do it and she isnt sure. what do any women (or for that matter lads) think?

    It has anti-social work hours. If you're body confidant when you start, I think this increases, but if you are hiding insecurities I think poledancing will just exasperate this. Also, is you friend attractive, size 8-12, with an outgoing and friendly personality? She won't make an moolah otherwise...

    Do you/does she know what 'poledancers' actually do? The places I know, you make your moolah with personal dances, not from actually swingin' round a pole, although some places with a stage you get money/token voucher things during your pole display.

    Yes I did lap dances. Down to a v.skimpy thong rather than nude. There was a 'private room' also, but what went on in there I couldn't say as I only did it three nights.

    I've made more money doing shows and as a dance instructor so unless your frind specifically wants to get her kit off for a living, she could look into other entertainment/dance employment. And like I said- the hours are just shite.

    Also, depending on what you want to do in the future, having been a poledancer could come back to haunt - it is classed as part of the sex industry isn't it? Not great on your CV if you want to be a solicitor or something... lol

    this is quite strange really. was talking to one of my lodgers last night as shes looking for a job to extra cash while at college for chef-ing. And there was a job going in the local paper for pole/lap dancers. Now theres a post on here about it.

    Well theres nowt wrong with stripping an dpole dancing. Be aware though that most clubs are lap dance places, so you will have ot get naked and erotic for a guy or girl one on one.

    You usually have to pay a house fee or they take some of each note you get.

    It can get you a lot of money though, but for the UK most place sare open solely at night so its a night job rather then a day job.

    It can be fun and is repsetciable, but some may look donw on you for it.

    If you prepared to get naked for strangers for cash then go for it!

    Little tip: Don't go up to guys and grab ther hands and attempt to drag them off for a dance or assume they want u t dance for them. Its rude and prseumptious. Talk to them, be nice, make them feel a little special and they money is yours ;)

    Only ever done it for fun at clubs, which have the poles for the public.

    Was very fun- enjoy it but doubtful Id do it for a job cause Im not good with getting my kit off in public :nervous:
