"There they are," said their friends. "They're Here!"

Just a reminder for the dipshits of the site :)

They're = They are (i.e. They're playing tonight!)
Their = It's their thing. It's a belonging (i.e. Their mug of tea.)
There = Place (i.e Over there!)

Also

Your = It's yours (i.e. Your house, your rules)
You're = You are (i.e You're a twat if you don't understand this thread)

Have a nice day.

    Fuck off...who cares! Things as pedantic as their/they're/there are nothing comparable to basic spelling and grammar. Wise up please!

    Do I look BOVVERED? Hello, English and linguistics student. I know these. Misuse of apostrophes in real life irritates the fuck out of me, confusion over various possessive pronouns, adjectives and diectics on a message board does not. I'm sure most of the people on here know that some people do it wrong but don't feel the need to correct them because it's not a big deal on a message board. We're not in school here! Stop complaining. If you are really having problems understanding what people mean, use the syntax and the context to work it out.

    Geez. :rolleyes:

    And as for you, I think you should drop your English and linguistics and take up the sarcasm lessons they're offering over at the "I'll give you a clue" college :p

    Lighten up dude ;)

    Your post wasn't sarcastic, it was quite rude really. Text talk isn't appreciated on these boards, but that doesn't mean we employ the full on grammar police.

    How do you know it wasn't sarcastic?

    Get in those lessons!

    Aye she's a doll ain't she!

    Ahh, I come back to test out which way the board's swaying after a year or so and find it's just as it should be :D

    Just a reminder that some people genuinely really struggle with grammar and OK, while this may be meant as sarcasm, KHSS is right, it does just come across as being rude.

    Just to be as pedantic as you seem to be ... your user details suggest that you have not yet been registered a year.

    The wink denotes sarcasm, humour. I know people have issues with that too.

    I am sorry if anyone took offence to a simple post. I didn't intend to "hurt" anyone in the creation of it.

    Anyways, on with the fun .... who's making me a cuppa tea? ;)

    It's 'cup of'.

    Oh, and nobody.

    Well in that case I will excuse your local dialect, after all, regional variation is no more right or wrong than standard English.
