Hello,
I really hope you can help in some way or another.
I am 21 and I am I work in an accounts office and also studying the AAT course hoping to go further.
However, what I have always wanted to do work in the hospital theatre.I wanted to be surgeon but I couldn't do the A-levels in the sciences so I went down this road. Now,I have looked into how I could get into working in surgery and there is a course that I could do at Unit but it's full time.
So I don't know whether to give up full time work and try and get in the uni course....
Or should I try and get hospital work and see if I can work my way up that way?
The job I am intersted in is called Operational Department Practitioner.
Does anyone work in a hospital?
Could you tell me if working my way up is possible?
Is the degree the only way to go about it?
Thanks for your time.

That page is great but it seems to only mention that you need a degree.otherwise how can I get into the training......Do you think the best thing to do is to just get a job in the hospital and try and work my way up?

Or you could go into nursing and specialise in theatres when you qualify.
I need to weight up my options and see if I can do without the money I usually get.
I'm also thinking that it may be difficult to get a job in the hospital to work in the theatre.Do you know if it is difficult?
