I do it occasionally, but only if I've sort of forgotten what I'm doing, or (as others say) I want it to be personal. And I don't usually sign "piccolo" (though I used to put "picc." sometimes), I'll put Kate.

I wouldn't be too keen to reply to a thread where the main topic was slagging off my usual posting style.

Ilora isn't the only one who does it though. There are many different newbies who come and go who do it too. Admittedly, Ilora is the only reg who does it all the time, but I didn't take this thread as aimed at her. Just the ones who do it in general :(

    Don't worry, my_name

^^^ guilty of that one! I think I do it to burn my nickname into peoples heads, wouldn't want a slip of the thumb to produce my real name *shudders*. Only official associations use that...

I do it when I write a thread. I also do it when I write a personal post to someone. I don't see the point in doing it for every post though. At all.

Btw, KHSS - on my predictive text, it comes up with "Heather" ;d.

The only times I sign anything with my name is if I PM, email or text someone. However, the latter is mainly if the person I'm texting doesn't have my number for one reason or another.

I sometimes do it in a game or the forums for that game. Mainly if I need to add my account number or if I want to make it a tad bit more personal by including my real name.

    Otherwise I see no need.

    Oooh, I'm infamous.

It's been a habit of mine for about 4/5 years. It just seems polite to sign off after every post rather than leaving it as just a statement or whatever. :)

What phone have you got? Mine is clever and comes up Heather because it knows I'm more likely to put that! Alot of phones learn things too.... except my boyfriends (but I'd cheerfully chuck that phone out the window on the M6 afor various other reasons anyway)
