wales - funeral for a friend (theyre welsh arent they? )
Idlewild for scotland or ireland i think theyre from on of em
Ireland : Thin Lizzy
I'm not aware of any good bands to have ever come out of Wales or Scotland. Anyone who says Rod Steward will receive an e-slap.
scotland
England - The Wedding Present
Scotland - Belle & Sebastian
Anyone seen Q this month? They did another 100 greatest albums. Radiohead got 1st and 2nd spots, another in the top 10, and a further one in the list overall. 4 out of 6 albums considered among the 100 greatest, so I was happy. Not bad going.
Music's probably one of the things Britain is best at, to be honest. We've had most of the best bands since the 60's.
Precisely the reason I don't buy Q.
This was voted for though anyway, so I couldn't care less. They're not only content with being the best rock band in the country, they're also the best electronic band.
I think you've just proved my point. Q.E.D.
Scotland - The Proclaimers
Ireland - The Saw Doctors
Wales - Hm, Manic Street Preachers, I suppose.
Wales - Sterophonics
Scotland - Travis
Ireland - U2
Rod Stewart
Just kidding he's rubbish.
Accually I prefer Thin Lizzy To Therapy? But they are'nt Northen Irish.
or Eurythmics.
Wales - Biffy Clyro
Scotland - Belle and Sebastian or Franz Ferdinand. Touch call.
Ireland - The Levellers
Of the OP's choices, three are cack.
Phil Lynott grew up in Dublin despite being born in Birmingham. I'm pretty sure they're Irish, ie. from Eire rather than N.I. The song Emerald is a good clue.
I know Eric Bell and Gary Moore were from NI but I think the band's roots lie in the Republic.
Scotland - Franz Ferdinand
Wales - McLusky
Ireland - Ash
I ment there from Ireland. I was reading about them in Kerrang!! the other day.
Ash are O.K.
Wales - Manics then Stereophonics
Ireland - Ash
Scotland - Franz Ferdinand then Travis
But Mani's a Manc isn't he?
Wales - Manic Street Preachers
Scotland - Biffy Clyro
Northern Ireland - Snow Patrol or Stiff Little Fingers or The Undertones :chin:
Republic of Ireland - Thin Lizzy
N.Ireland - Divine Comedy
Wales - Manic Street Preachers
England - Rolling Stones (although, personally, it'd be good to split England into regions because it's that big and diverse).
Republic of Ireland: U2, certainly!!
Wales - Budgie
Scotland - Simple Minds
N. Ireland - The Undertones
Rep. Ireland - Thin Lizzy
Scotland - Pass I think of anyone
Wales - Funeral for a friend very closly followed by Lostprophets.
Ireland - Ash
I listen to a hell of a lot of american bands rather then UK bands.
