I really want a kitten but never had a cat/kitten before.
What costs are involved etc?

Vet fees (or pet insurance, or both)
Food (tins, biscuits, treats)
Play things
Scratching posts & bedding
Cat flap / someone to open door / cattery fees when you go away
Litter trays, litter
Plus whatever you pay to get the cat. From a rescue place that would be between 30-70 pounds per cat.
Remember that a kitten is only a kitten for a few months, then it's a cat. Most kittens will be fully grown after about a year.
Kitten -> Free or just 10~20 quids
Vets -> round 50~60 quids for first vaccination and booster
Games -> Depends, normally not that expensive.
Litter -> Unless it is an outside cat, probably around £20 for box + £10/bag
Thos aint exact prices for say, just what it cost me roughly with mine.
I did is vaccination when he was nearly 2 only cos haven't had cash, but
it was an inside cat. If it go outside it must be done as soon as possible.
unneutered tomcats have a tendency to bugger off for a few weeks on end to spread their seed, which means heartache and worry your end and risks their end. they also have a habit of marking their territory (your home) with their scent (urine) which smells grim. so neutering is a good idea if you get little boy cats.
This is the reason we decided against kittens.
