Tasty drinking water

Am I mad or does the water from an upstairs bathroom always taste gorgeous compared to that from a downstairs kitchen tap?

In the middle of the night when you are dying of thirst the water in the bathroom at home tastes AMAZING.

It really does. I'm all on one floor here, so it all tastes the same.

It tastes the same in both places in my house because both places are mains fed through the same pipes.

Before the central heating was done the bathroom was horrid because it came from a cold water storage tank in the roof :yuck:

    Niiice story mr roll

I actually don't like the taste of the upstairs bathroom water in my parents' house (everywhere else I live/stay is a one-floor jobby), although like KHSS said it is like a freshly sprung mountain spring when you wake up in the middle of the night (usually hungover) gasping.

I have always found that the water from the bathroom tap at home is sooooo much nicer but I always thought it was just me so glad to know its not!!!

At my house at university we have three floors and my room and bathroom is on the top floor but the water tastes horrid.

generally bathroom water comes from the storage tank in the roof space (the old ones are big galvanised steel ones, modern ones are black plastic tanks) which are generally left uncovered .. i see a lot of them in work and i can assure you if you've seen inside many of these it'd put you off drinking bathroom water!

doesnt stop me tho, i prefer bathroom water too ;p

I always thought it was a bit dodgy to drink water from the bathroom..dunno why, but I just always thought that. I mean if I am thirsty I'd always go to downstairs to the kitchen instead of just into the bathroom.

S'not that old. And yes, it is radiators, as when we work on them, we tie up the ballcock. Otherwise it'll refill itself and leak.

I assume it is in the loft for gravity, anyway. Meh. Either way, its the radiator water. It goes from the tank, gets heated, and into radiator. Somehow... black magic, I say!

The bathroom water one is nicley sealed off though, which counts.

Edit: I bet that guy is GREAT at DIY.

I used to like the water from my bathroom taps when i was younger, then i realised that the water storage tank (above my fucking bed in my bedroom) was where it came from. I've been in that cupboard a few times and it's really dirty and the tank is uncovered.

The noise the running water makes keeps me from getting to sleep :|

what will refill itself and leak ?

The tank... will refill itself, the water runs down the pipes, and leaks out, when we take out a radiator. So we tie up the ballcock in the tank.
