I wonder if the film can capture what made the series so intreaguing. It looks like a big budget flick anyway.

If that is in 'chronological' order then I beleive horse and his boy comes before LWW.........

I used to love those books when I was little......

The list above is the correct order if you want to read them in chronological order (narnia time) however the publication dates are -

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
    Prince Caspian (1951)
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
    The Silver Chair (1953)
The Horse and His Boy (1954)
    The Magicians Nephew (1955)
    The Last Battle (1956)

and there is something to be said for reading in that order, I remember horse and nephew both being more interesting after the other books, as they play off events that happen later.

I loved the Magicians Nephew... that was the one with the green and yellow rings, wasn't it?

I love the story of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". I hope the film does it justice, although it probably won't.

Think when i was younger i read upto the Horse and his Boy but for some reason stopped. Liked them though, good stories. Hopefully the film reflects that.

I'm undecided about this. In a way I would want to see the film, but, in another way, I grew up with the books and tv series, and wouldn't want to see this film - which looked fairly cheesy in the trailers - and have my image of the series tainted by some pile o'shite.

It'd be like watching Dempsey and Makepeace, I thought it was great when I was 12 or whatever, but seeing an episode now on UKTV gold makes me wonder if I was on crack at the time.

i saw it last night, thought it was fabby - but then ive never read the book or the other chronicles, my knowledge of it was watching the bbc series about 150times since it was done, especially in the last year when i got it on dvd.

they have missed out giant rumblebottom though. also...mr tumnus is fit!!

I'm not sure if I want to go either, like you a read the books and saw it on tv and remakes do have a habit of ruining your memorries of childhood.

I'm torn about seeing this; I'm not a big fan of the books but I love Tilda Swinton and want to see her play the White Witch.

From the trailer I saw in the cinema (not sure if it's the same as the one that's on TV?) I think they might have "sold out" the story for the sake of special effects and spectacular shots LOTR-style...as that's what gets the big Box Office draw these days. I know Narnia is a magical place, but it just jarred a bit in my mind.

I loved the tv series and the books and want to see this movie version. I dont think it would spoil it for me if it turned out to be rubbish. I'm trying to arrange to go see it soon but we're all so busy no one has time. Hmf
