    But the question I still ask about anybody having kids is "why?" I just don't get the excitement of having kids. I don't have that desire. :confused: Sure, I can see that there is some pleasure to be had from nurturing them and seeing them grow, but they just seem so much hassle for those few and far between moments. I just don't get it. :confused:

    Oh dear. If that's the way you feel, that's fair enough. I don't think it should be compulsory for everyone to want kids, I can appreciate that not everyone does. But as for explaining what it's all about.... I can't. It's impossible to explain, all I can say is, it is so much more than some few and far between moments and a slight twinge of pleasure at nurturing them - you could get that from growing a cactus.

    It's so much more than that.

    If I could explain to you the magnitude of the love you have for your own children, if I could explain the feeling you get the first time you hear the words "Daddy" and it's directed at you, if I could explain the feeling I get when I come in from work after a really shit day - only for my youngest to give me a hug as I walk through the door...

    You would be in no doubt as to why people have children.

    But hey, it's not for everyone I guess.

    No I don't really like them till they get to about 10 before that they are all a bit boring and demanding and you can't have a really good political conversation with them - but i know i'm going to have to have one soon because

    a) if you don't want them then i think your a bit weird - i cant exactly explain why though
    b) I kind of want to get started before i'm 30 which is rapidly approaching - arrrggghhhhh

    nope, not yet, but hopefully i will in the next few years depending on what's happening with the old body. i want to be quite a young mum.

    haven't told mr. kaff about this yet though :lol:
