They have come up with another loony policy. This time they want to allow young mothers to get away with stealing from shops. They prefer them to do community works than send them to jail. I mean, this party continues to show them selves up. They need to post this sort of message on the billboards and they are sure to get their lowest result ever!
This policy is giving the wrong message to single mums out there.
The party claims that single mums are taken to jail on their first offensive. This is total crap. Theyare given chance after chance after chance (X10000000), then they might be sent to jail. They are usually given a fine at the most.
Don't even start on their policy on mandatory sentences for murderers.
(Sorry about a link, I can't find a thing about this on the BBC as yet, check their party website for details)

Getting away with it how exactly?
Getting away with it how exactly?
But instead of working for money to buy stuff, you steal stuff and then work to pay it off. Kind of like getting credit but with the benefit that you might get away with out paying
They should work to pay me back double the value of what they have taken, but sending them to prison means I have to lose my stuff, get higher insurance costs and then pay part of the cost of their imprisonment.
As things stand, locking them away costs me more money than just being stolen from and it obviously doesn't frigging work either.
Stealing is wrong and most of the time is done to fuel drug problems for example.
So then, we need to get the drug culture in this country sorted. As most drug users in this country don't want to be, we should help them to get off it.
Lets not forget that it's often easier to get drugs in prison than out of it.
It shows that we are soft of crime. Something should be done the first time she does it, not a 1,000 times after.
I don't know as I havn't seen any evidense.
It's like stopping someone masturbating by giving them lots of their favourite porn, some tissues and hand cream.
"Stealing is wrong" - Unless you are a government.
Paedos don't stop being what they are because of the law. I doubt if the sad evil bastards have any more choice in their sexual inclination than gay, straight or whatever people. The fact is that they are dangerous to children and should at least be locked away forever if not shot.
Proven, absolute 100% positive, "I shot him and I'm glad I killed the bastard" murderers? Shoot em. I don't want to be paying for Peter Sutcliffes meals.
The article refers to shoplifiting in particular (I have today's Guardian open in front of me) and I fail to see a problem with it. People who rob from companies who rob from us all do not deserve to be in prison.
you know for non-violent non-sexual offences a community sentence is better
the stuff about single mums etc, well single father have been sent to prison im sure so thats just a load of turd
community sentence for non-serious crimes are better as they actually put something back into community, if they break it put them on a short stint inside by all means but give them a chance to avoid the university of crime
Again confusing drug users with drug addicts, but that's beside the point...
The answer is to supply heroin legally to addicts...so they have no need to steal...and you eradicate a big problem. Of course, you will rarely hear a politician agree...
And what about when some government supplied addict overdoses and their family sue the state?
The answer's in education programmes and extensive funding of rehabilitation schemes to get addicts off the drugs without waiting for a place.
The second statement is true, but allowing government-controlled supply of drugs using current prescription legislation would solve a big problem.
I don't like the idea of legalising drugs, I think it is a very dangerous slope to travel down and I do think it would condone drug use and tempt more people into using them. But something has to be done about the drugs issue, and "clamping down" has consistently failed to work.
Why not subscribe methodone?
methodone is just as addictive as hgeorin if not moreso, and without the high, thus its even worse
if u knew anything, youd know that heroin was developed to cure morphine addiction, as morphine was made to cure opiate addiction
methodone hardly works
there needs to be more detox and rehabilitation places for people who want help that way, and a legal supply of heroin which coincidentally is dirt cheap also really
i dont like the idea of making drugs legal but providing a legal supply for addicts even if just on prescription is the way forward
the war on drugs was a lost a long time ago
Yes, big up you, you showed me. I can only apologise for not being a crack junkie.
