Circumcision. The new craze?

Are there any circumcised boys in here? Two of my friends from college chose to have it done recently and, apart from it looking so cool, they say it's great. It's a popular operation in many other countries and I'm thinking of having it done but has anybody had any bad experiences?

    I live in the United Arab Emirates and out here all the boys have to have it done when they are about 8 (or younger if there parents want it done before). This is because their religion tells them to do it for hygiene. One of my friend's sisters has been cut 'down there' aswell, but I don't know how! <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/confused.gif"&gt;

    The only benefit of having it done I know about is the cleanliness thing, other than that I have no idea <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/confused.gif"&gt;

    I don't want to get into any flaming battle with you (in fact, I won't) but I did a search on all your posts and you never really "introduced" yourself in any real way either.

    Furthermore, this is the "SEX" discussion board after all (and my header was obvious enough) so perhaps if you are a little prudish, it might be best to either lose the false modesty or stay away from it ... I mean, what were you expecting? Stories about my puppy????

    well jake, it's really you're own choice whether u get it done or not, in england there really is no risk, because it's such a simplistic operation, having a circumsicion will prevent any forskin problems u might have/develop but it will not greatly affect sex, it won't desensetise u or make sex painful or anything like that.

    Oh cool! That was what I was a bit worried about 'cos I don't want to lose out on anything but, then again, if a foreskin doesn't retract properly, it's not all that much more sensitive anyway, is it?

J@ke, Tara hasn't been here very long either, so we're just getting to now her as well <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif"&gt; Us oldies (I think I qualified about 50 posts ago!) have just had a couple of bad experiences with forward newbies, you see. A couple a schizos. Or a porn-lover. Any hostility isn't personal.


    Actually, I know a lad who's been circumsised, a friend of mine. (Note the FRIEND emphasis!) He didn't have it done for a medical reason or anything. He compares it to having your tonsils out: "once it's done, there's no growing back!"

    if u can pull yer foreskin back properly then u need a circumsion double quick time, it could cause serious problems

    What is wrong with being able to pull your foreskin back? For some reason when i get an eerection the foreskin does not go back so i pull it back instead...why will this cause serious problems according to Monkey Boy on a post about circumcision being the new craze?

    Tara wasn't flaming you or trying to wind you up, she was just suggesting that it would be nice to introduce yourself, and you could have responded in a similarly polite way.

    Of course this is the sex section, but there's absolutely no need to make snide comments about tara posting about her puppy!!!

    Misunderstandings are easy with this media. Tara is OK, I've spoken to her. J@ke obviously misunderstood Tara's good intentions & reacted badly.

    I did overreact to Tara's message but there was nowhere on the site suggesting to what level I should introduce myself and, short of sifting through every posting to see what any other newbies had written, I did not know that this was required of me.

    However, I have seen the error of my ways and I have written to Tara personally to apologise. I hope you will all find that I am not a nasty, bigoted, racist, sexist or homophobic person and I hope that I can be excused this rather bad start on my behalf.
