Hey, I've just started a new term and I'm feeling pretty low. It's my final year so have stressful exams for two weeks. Also, not really getting on that well with my housemates, feel I get on so much better with freinds back home, I don't feel I can be myself here. Finally, I dont feel very safe living in a large city, my room is on the ground floor and I get sleepless nights, waking up at the slightest noise.
Please help,
James

remember, its not for long. i have a friend who is feeling very similar to you atm. he's in his 4th year and he has been quite down about this sort of stuff too. try and take it easy. its common for final year students to feel like that because one era and stage of their life is ending. PM me if you want details of what my friend is going through and i'll do my best to help you too
As for not liking living on the ground floor, is there anyone in your house who would be willing to swap rooms with you? It's worth asking surely
Finally, once these exams are out of the way get yourself organised with your work, rewrite lecture notes so they make sense, keep up to date and know where all your important information is.
making new friends
It may also be worth inviting one of your mates from home up for a visit, you could go out to the union or a student night and that might help you to meet more people, as well as having some fun with someone you get on with well.
Hope that helps
Susie
