Gambling Problem

Hiya,

I think I've got a bit of a gambling problem..

OK scratch that, I've definately got a gambling problem, I have done since I was about 10 I think! (no joke)

But lately I've been gambling on-line, more specifically playing blackjack.. now I lost quite a bit of cash about 2 months ago and stopped playing.. I lost so much because I was in a bad mood and played irresponsibly..

Since I started playing again last week I've been really taking my time, and to be honest, I don't seem to lose.. ever..

Last Sunday I won £100 and Monday I won £350.. That kind of money I really need as a dad to be, but then as a dad to be I really don't want to rely on gambling as a source of income..

I like to have the odd game, win or lose, but when I lose I easily get hooked into the circle of playing to win back what I've lost... and don't seem to be able to stop..

Should I just pack it almost entirely?

Edit because : No one send me the link for thesites gambling problem page either, I already read it.. ta

My dad went onto 1 of them gamblin sites once, he put £20 on and he went upto £500 with that!

However, you had to make a thousand losses before you could take your money off. Which in theory, you have to lose at least a thousand pound on the site before you could take any money off!

So my dad carried on playing with the virtual £500 and, as they are programmed to do, he lost it all, his £20 inclusive

they're a jip mate, dont bother with them sites!

    oh yea, 1 more thing:

for a start, casino's are created to lose money - thats why casino owners are soooo rich. You're not gonna win

computer programs add to that - so luck is taken away so you can't win!

I think an online casino is the worsed of both worlds - its virtually impossible to win

I work in a casino not as a croupier tho, but I see the people come in the door and I must admit i feel sorry for them. granted they win sometimes but on the whole they lose.

Being in a relationship with an addicted gambler (who should know better because he works in a casino)really opened my eyes to this shit,if you loose big just stop playing never ever play on a tilt it will only result in a bigger loss
its good that u accept the problem and that you seem to have your head screwed on but try and control it more get a steady job and income and keep a certain amount for gambile every month or whatever.
make sure your using secure internet sites that dont con you not all of them are dodgy some of the world biggest gamblers play online especially poker and stuff
thats my two cents anyways :)

Well, the word is gambling, so at some time your luck's going to run out (like Solid_L said, casinos are designed to win them dosh, not you) but the risk of losing is always part of the fun... If you're concerned (especially as a new Pa you might want to do without losing a bob or two at the mo!) then give yourself a break from gambling. If you get really hooked and find it tough not to give in to temptation, try Gamblers Anonymous for support: 0870 0508880.

    Best wishes
