PetiteQuarkPetiteQuark Posts: 143 Helping Hand

is studying physics at the open uni a good idea? Is it reputable even because ive heard alot of mixed opinions online about it but my friends say its a good idea i was supposed to start back on january but didn't because i was still unsure. (I want to become a particle physicist or an engineer but i didnt do that well back in secondary...)

Also im 19 now so i think im old enough

Hiya @PetiteQuark Engineer or particle physicist sounds amazing. It's completely okay to take some time to think about what you want to do or what route you want to pursue, you don't need to feel any pressure about starting right now either. Are you thinking of Open University because it is an online option or are you still thinking about some other universities too?

Im thinking about the Open university because its online i think itd be better than being in a classroom environment im noy sure if its reputable also this is kind of off topic im being asked to verify my age using a face scan to use discussion boards or anything i'd rather use my id instead because I'm unsure if the face scan is accurate and I'm worried what will happen to any data I do upload for the face scan.(im 19)

Heya, just to answer your question about age verifcation quickly - you are definitely more than welcome to use an ID form, it will go to Yoti and none of us as staff will see the information

You can read more about it here: https://support.yoti.com/yotisupport/s/article/What-does-Yoti-do-with-my-personal-information
