@eylah regarding the previous weekly thread, I am really sorry you had tp go through that. I can’t imagine how scary that must’ve felt. I’m relieved to hear you were able to feel even a bit better afterwards. Please know you’re not alone, and we care about you, how are you feeling now?
I sincerely apologise that I did not see some messages sooner. How is everyone?

@Nemuritai You did such a great job with your drawing and your hard work truly paid off- we are all proud of you.

I’m so sorry things have felt so heavy and hopeless right now. That doesn’t make you silly at all. Your feelings matter and you don’t have to compare your struggles to anyone else’s. Pain is pain, and you deserve understanding and kindness just as much as anyone else here. It is a relief to know that you are safe and we are here for you if you need to lean on us.

@PetiteQuark I totally understand why you’re scared because reading things like that can make your mind jump to the worst case. But from what I have read, tap water in the UK is treated and regulated and I don’t think the amoeba can survive in properly treated water. The cases you hear about tend to happen perhaps in warm, untreated freshwater like lakes or rivers. Perhaps take a little time to rest if you can: sit somewhere comfortable, or do something calming. I know it feels really frightening right now, but please know you’re safe and you don’t have to handle this on your own.

Hey @Ech0 - thank you so much, that really does mean a lot. Last night was really hard, everything just felt too painful and too much and I couldn't stop crying. I do feel slightly better today, I just feel kind of numb to be honest and very tired. I'm going to try my best today to slow down and take care of myself though.

There's no need to apologise for not responding to everyone, by the way. I'm really grateful for all the support you give to everyone, but at the same time you matter too, and it's perfectly okay to take time for yourself as well. Hope you're doing okay

@Nemuritai We are proud of you for getting through it and for choosing to take things slowly. That’s such a strong and caring thing to do for yourself and you deserve some good rest.
Your kindness means a lot to me too and I am okay thank you.
    Happy December everyone.

That's a real shame, I haven't sought support there but I've heard they were very good. I hope you're able to find somewhere else you can receive support

Hey @Redemption that is such a shame, I'm sure that was a really helpful service and it must not feel great to have that taken away.

I had a look and the Hub Of Hope looks like it could be helpful finding additional services like Black Dog. I will post a link below:

    https://hubofhope.co.uk/services

Let us know if you need any help finding alternative services, we would be happy to help.

Having a really difficult evening, I'm just struggling a lot right now.
  • Ech0Ech0 Posts: 94 Budding Regular
@PetiteQuark I’m really sorry you’re feeling so sick, that sounds really uncomfortable and scary when your mind is already worried. When we’re feeling worried, I think it’s not uncommon for our minds to focus on the scariest things we’ve read or seen online, even if they’re very rare or not quite the whole picture. I know the information about this disease has made you feel shaken and that’s completely understandable. If it would help ease your mind even more, it could be reassuring to check in with a healthcare professional (like was mentioned in another thread I think) who will be able to give you clear and accurate information. You don’t have to face these feelings alone and you deserve to feel safe and supported. We are right here with you.

@Redemption That is very saddening to hear. It sounds like Black Dog has been a really valuable support for you, and I can only imagine how disappointing it must feel to lose it. I hope you can connect with another source of support that feels comforting and helpful for you.

I really appreciate it @Ech0, thank you for being here. I kind of broke down earlier to be honest but I think I'm feeling calmer now, I can't really say I'm okay but I'm getting through the evening and made a coffee which always makes me feel a tiny bit better (I really like coffee if you couldn't tell heh). I really appreciate you checking in, it means a lot. I do hope you're doing alright

@Nemuritai That sounds like it was very overwhelming to deal with and I wish you did not have to experience that. But I am glad to hear you’re feeling a bit calmer now. Even tiny comforts, like a cup of coffee you love, can be grounding when things feel heavy. Getting through the evening is already a big step. It shows how much strength you’re carrying, even on days when everything feels heavy. We are here with you, and it is great you reached out. I’m doing okay, thank you for asking.

Yh, it has been pretty tough. Black Dog really helped me get through some bad patches, so losing that support has been a bit of a blow. I’m trying to stay open to finding something else that feels just as supportive though, because I know I can’t do it all on my own. I appreciate you saying that it means a lot.

@Ech0 Thanks, I really appreciate that. I’m hoping to find another place or service that can offer the same kind of support it’s definitely been a bit of a struggle, but knowing people care helps a lot.

Hey @PetiteQuark it sounds like you’ve not been feeling well lately and it’s understandable that you’d be feeling overwhelmed, especially when you’re concerned about what might be causing your symptoms. I see you’ve had some great reassurance so far but if you are still worried about it, getting advice from a medical professional is a great idea. You could reach out to NHS 111 by calling them or clicking on this link:https://111.nhs.uk/. They will be able to offer you support for your symptoms.

    Hi Nemuritai,

Thank you for sharing more about how you are feeling, I understand it can be difficult to explain your thoughts, you’ve done great to open up.

I can see that you are feeling a little calmer and have come up with some great self care ideas like drinking a hot drink. Whilst I understand little things like this can help it’s totally understandable if that doesn’t seem to fix everything.

If you are ever struggling, please do reach out. I know you’ve mentioned you will access the support threads which is great and you can also text Shout on 85258.
