Halloween as an adult - love it or hate it?

I’m sure we all remember Halloween as kids - dressing up, trick or treating, Halloween parties, pumpkin carving (why did our parents ever let us do that it’s so messy) and eating sweets of all colours until we felt a bit sick?
They are fond memories for me, but my feelings on Halloween have dramatically changed as an adult. I don’t mind an adult Halloween party or a good horror movie, and when I get my own place i would love nothing more than to welcome trick or treaters with open arms.. but it just doesn’t feel exciting to me at this stage of my life. Plus, I can just dress up as myself and be scary enough
So this thread is mostly for my fellow twenty somethings - do you still enjoy Halloween, and if so, how do you make it as exciting as when you were a kid?
And there’s a lot of hype around it, but it truly is ok not to like Halloween that much. If you (at any age) don’t like Halloween, how do you plan on spending the day/evening?
Edited for one last question and sorry to mention the C word so early, but I’m a christmas fan through and through - if you are not thrilled by the idea of Halloween, is there another holiday you enjoy more?

Tomorrow is just a pretty normal day for me, I am just back from holiday and have a mountain of good TV shows to catch up, so I plan on spending the majority of today and tomorrow doing that. I do intend on coming along to the Halloween GC though, I’ll make that my one celebratory thing.
I think the decorations and stuff are cool and wholesome and I love seeing them, might watch a (mildly) spooky movie or two but don't care too much about dressing up or parties - defo much more of a Christmas girlie!
I think it's exciting because other people get excited about it more than anything if that makes sense - and I welcome everyone joining the GC for their celebratory Halloween event!
For me I've always loved Halloween and probably favour it more to Christmas in a way eventhough I love both seasons very much as they mean different things. I've loved that Halloween is basically a day where you can dress up literally anything (even a cardboard box) and you wouldent be judged for your outfit and a bonus is eating sweets and all the junk food I generally love. But as someone who feels like they are more alternative/goth/elder emo I feel like Halloween is everyday for me 😂 just because I really love spooky things in general and also the macabre too.
However, as I've got older over the years I feel like that joy has been moving out and has gone on a long year adventure somewhere and still hasn't come back 😂. Thats not to say I don't celebrate it anymore, I still do but there's less excitement I feel I guess because I feel when your little there's a build up to the days of Halloween especially the feeling of going trick or treating and basically getting free sweets. I just wish adults could do the same lol. Normally I'll to tend decorate a bit and just watch either films or do what I usually do in general. It's feels like a normal day for me now. I think for me as well and I don't know what everyone else thinks of this, but is it me or does Halloween, Christmas, Easter feel very overcosumption, the urge to buy lots of things just for one day. For example, I think gift giving is lovely Christmas time but I know the overconsumption of buying products and presents especially for younger people has been increasing. Everything feels commercialised to an extent where the seasons don't feel as enjoyable as they should.
There's a Halloween pop up shop in my town (where I have been shopping at lol) which replaced one of the food shops which in my opinion was a very good shop and shouldn't have really been replaced. But surprisingly the Halloween shop in town has been very successful and I always walk past it and look in because they sell animatronics, but the really big sized ones which are so expensive (I'd love in an ideal world to have one lol but I've got no space 🙈🙈).
Overall, for me tomorrow is going to be another relaxing day and also it's half term for me because I'm currently off for the week until I go back om my internship next week eek. This week has flown by!.
