Kicked out

nemnem Posts: 107 The Mix Convert
My parents said I have to do these things or else I get kicked out

“Share the dates of your appointments” [psychiatry/ mental health appointments]
“Attend all appointments”

I can’t have sex at home
Maybe I would be happier

Everyone says social housing is bad and horrible environment
My family home seems to be having a negative effect on my mental health
At least right now for the moment
My mum used to be chill to pick me up from the bus every night now she doesn’t want to
I live in the middle of nowhere
Don’t drive

Hey @nem this sounds like a lot to be dealing with - how are you getting on?

I hear your parents have made some rules for you that they expect you to follow otherwise they'll kick you out. That sounds worrying nem and like you might have the rules constantly on your mind to make sure you don't go against any.

I also hear that your mum used to pick you up from the bus but she doesn't anymore and this sounds like an even difficult situation considering you live in the middle of nowhere and can't drive. I'm wondering what your thoughts are around leaving your living situation and if you've looked into housing options which might be available to you? Do you have somewhere you could go if your parents did make you leave home?

I've also popped a few signposts down below you might find useful that help with this kind of thing:
Centrepoint - provides homeless young people aged 16-25 with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education. They have a helpline open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm on 0808 800 0661. Their website has useful information including sleeping rough, sofa surfing, being at risk of homelessness, and being homeless whilst pregnant. It also has information on housing advice and services, financial and legal advice, and training and careers advice. More information can be found on their website https://centrepoint.org.uk/

Shelter - offers advice and information on all aspects of housing or homelessness in the UK. They have a free emergency helpline if you are in England or Scotland open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm which offers urgent advice if you are homeless, have nowhere to stay tonight or are at risk of harm or abuse in your home on 0808 800 4444. Find out more information on their website https://www.shelter.org.uk/

DePaul Nightstop - tackles youth homelessness by providing emergency overnight accommodation for young people who are facing a night on the streets or sleeping in an unsafe place. They prevent homelessness through volunteer hosts who are ordinary members of the community. Communities and charities run Nightstops in more than 25 locations around the UK, led and supported by the Nightstop team at Depaul UK. You can find your nearest Nightstop service on their website, or contact them on nightstopuk@depaulcharity.org.uk or 020 7939 1220 Monday to Friday 10am-5pm.
