Late pay

Hello.
I have to wait till next Friday to get paid when it should have been this week. I have been feeling injustice and frustration. I think the problem is normalised. It is as if it is acceptable not to receive your pay on time because you can talk directly with the employer or speak to ACAS if talking to the manager does not resolve the situation. It is not right that I have had to ask for my wage and will receive it late. My employment advisor dismissed my concern, although it is possible he did not intend it and thought that his time would be better spent supporting me through the situation so it gets resolved promptly.
However, I still felt dismissed regardless. He asked if I had enough money and said I would receive my pay next Friday instead, so I would still be getting my money. The main thing is that I will be getting paid and did well to speak up, but it does not mean I will not be upset with getting paid late. I felt like my advisor supported my manager.
He told me to tell her it was a pleasure and that I want to work with another organisation as I do not want to work at my current workplace anymore. I felt my advisor wanted me to talk to my manager, pretending the situation did not happen. It is possible that he knew the situation was not right but did not feel the need to mention it and wanted to advise me on how to end my contract with the company.

Mhm, that does sound really frustrating not to be paid on time, esspecially when this isn't the first time this has happened. I can imagine its really stressful when you're also trying to navigate the costs of living too!
As you said, it sounds really positive that you advocated for yourself with your employment advisor, because you absolutely deserve to speak up here. At the same time though, its also really valid that you left that conversation feeling dissapoinnted, because it can be hard when we work up the courage to say these things and then don't get listened to properly.
It sounds like they were giving you advice that didn't feel quite right to you? What do you personally feel you want to do next in this situation?
Keep us posted! We're here for you
Hello @Sian321.
Yes. It is good that I spoke up despite what happened.
The late pay has been frustrating.
Yes, my advisor’s advice was not right for me. It was disappointing to get that response from my advisor.
I will have to unfortunately just wait to be paid this Friday.
Thank you for your support.
Hello, @ellie2000.
Okay. Thank you for the advice.
Hello @Sunshine12.
Yes. It is unprofessional. I am not going to have to find a way to prevent this from reoccurring. I plan to end my contract with the company after I have received my pay.
Good luck in the new job once you find it
