guys idk this may sound kinda stupid because I know obviously I don’t live in America and this is gonna effect them sm more but i genuinely can’t stop thinking about the results, im so angry and upset, I feel so awful for anyone living there. I just cant believe he actually won? Like how do we live in a world where people actually voted for him. This is gonna effect so many people horribly and it just makes me so sad

And I think that for us it is still okay to feel nervous and worried. whilst we may not be in the USA, American politics can often impact on an international scale.
So take this as a reminder to take care of your mental health too during this time - it's okay to feel anxious about what's happening in the world right now. and I'm sending you all lots of hugs.
honestly even today has been difficult as well i can’t stop thinking about how this is going to effect everyone there and my family doesn’t understand why I’m so upset and angry about this. im always the one (in my family) that cares a lot about everyone and i easily cry about it and they never understand why im so effected (and sometimes even make jokes about it that genuinely upset me).
i love my parents but they can be so rude and disrespectful to me and other people, when i try and explain why I’m upset they never understand. they act like the care about supporting marginalised groups of people but then they are the ones that make awful jokes and say im “too politically correct” when i try and defend the groups of people they insult (like why are they annoyed that i actually care about other people’s feelings and lives and want to help? i don’t understand). and coming back to trump and the election, for some reason i find it even more upsetting about my mum because i feel like as a woman she should try and understand why this has effected me so much but instead she goes as far to defend trump about certain things (like she doesn’t even support him, she was unhappy about the results but somehow she still feels it’s necessary to defend him on certain things?)
To maybe give you some faith in humanity, I was looking at some of the election data.
Trump only got 2 million more votes than when he lost in 2020, but Kamala and the Democrats got over 15 million votes less than Biden got in 2020, which is why Kamala got crushed.
So about the same amount of people voted for Trump in 2024 and 2020 - it was just WAY less Democrat voters showed up, which is what tipped the scale so heavily.
It's okay to feel how you feel about it and maybe have a moment of grief and sadness, and maybe think about what it means for the UK, but take care of yourselves too.
