Doctors appointment tomorrow

Rose113Rose113 Community Champion Posts: 2,491 Boards Champion
So I have the doctors tomorrow at 4pm (fun) and it’s kinda just stressing me out now, it’s at the twin doctors with someone that I’ve never seen before which is gonna make it awkward, I picked a female when booking it because mainly all the doctors have a 6 week waiting list and too see a nurse it was only 2 weeks. Nothing against male doctors but I just felt comfier seeing a female nurse.
Want to hurt me… go ahead
Wish to bully me…I’m used to it
Want to talk crap about me…go on then
Want to make me cry…feel free

Hey @Rose113, I've seen your other thread where you shared what your appointment entails tomorrow. Sending lots of hugs your way - I'm hearing how it's been a stressful and scary time for you. <3

It's no problem at all to pick a female nurse for your appointment. I've done the same many times in the past. Whatever makes you feel most comfy is what is important. You're doing really well to book these appointments - it's not easy to go through so many tests and exploratory appointments. I know how this feels. You're being really brave. Keep us updated with how your appointment goes. <3

No problem at all @Rose113 <3

Ah I just meant I'm hearing how you've been to lots of appointments and had tests done like blood tests and ultrasounds to try and help your GP/medical team explore how they can best help you. That's what I meant by exploratory appointments. I know that can weigh heavy on you when you're invited to do so many tests and things. <3

Thank you @Gemma and yeah I just wish I had the answers by now, all I know is that I have kidney damage which they don’t seem to bothered about :/ I just want to feel physically okay again, I can’t live the rest of my life dealing with this if there is no solution :/

@Rose113 I can hear how overwhelming this must be for you especially when you said how you feel as if the doctors are not taking your condition seriously. I am sure if it was a concern however, they would make sure to keep you in the loop, but it's completely okay to ask for some clarification from someone just to ease your mind. It is completely within your right to do so.

With regards to how you are feeling I am sorry that you are feeling unwell, it can be scary not having the answers to these things. Rest assured you're in the best hands possible and hopefully they will be able to help you in some way with your pain. It must be a lot to deal with so I can hear how frustrasting and anxiety inducing this is for you. You are being so brave.

You are not alone in this- we are here for you every step of the way <3

hey @Rose113 - just wanted to say good luck later with the appointment. it's completely okay to feel scared and nervous about it all. they probably deal with so many patients that are nervous so you're not alone in that and hopefully they do what they can to put your mind at ease and make you as comfortable as possible when you're there.

we're all here for you <3

no problem @Rose113 - and it's completely okay to feel awkward about certain topics. it's often just the way our minds work.

try and remember that these doctors and nurses have pretty much trained for most if not all circumstances and problems that patients may come in with - so chances are it's nothing they haven't discussed before. and will have dealt with people coming in feeling a bit awkward about why they are there, so you are absolutely not alone

hoping it all goes smoothly for you 🤞
