Thought this might interest some of you - there will be an episode of Science or Fiction Live streaming on 28th Oct at 6:30pm, and it's all about self-diagnosing ADHD as a young person. It's basically a live podcast recording. You can even attend in person if you happen to be London-based.

As y'all might know, a lot of people are pushed into self-diagnosis for ADHD due to long waiting lists at the NHS, but the information you find online can also be a bit of a wild west so being informed is always good.

The discussion will be between various professors, doctors, youth advisors, and podcasters.

Might be tuning in myself!

@JustV this looks really interesting. It’s the night before I go on holiday so I’m not sure if I’d be able to go. Do you know if there’s a way to watch it after it’s streamed?

I'll check this for you @independent_. I assume it will be available afterwards wherever you usually listen to podcasts (Spotify, Acast, etc) but I'll drop them a message for you. :)

I might think about going to this event (not in person of course but via online because it would be much easier for me travel wise  ) I would find this very insightful as well because I want to learn more about self diagnosing ADHD and why young people are self diagnosing as well even though I do feel like it is mainly down to the huge waiting lists for ADHD diagnosis and assessments. I'll have to see if im not too busy and I shall attend this <3.

this looks super interesting thanks so much @JustV for sharing this with us!
I think one of the real problems we have is getting help via NHS with anything mental health related due to the waiting lists and the long diagnosis sometimes involved. Regardless, I think the talk could give some really good insight towards learning about ADHD :relaxed:

Finally got an answer to this @independent_ - yep, they'll publish it on podcast platforms, YouTube, and their website. So you can find it where you normally find podcasts. :)

This is a really fair point @Trimina - curious whether they'll cover it in the convo!
