5 tips for navigating a new school

Get to know the school layout
Take a tour of the school before classes start if possible, or grab a map. Learn where important places are, like your classrooms, the canteen, bathrooms, and the library. Knowing your way around will help you feel more confident.

Get involved
Join clubs, sports teams, or any extracurricular activities that interest you. This is a great way to meet new people, make friends, and feel more connected to your school community.

Be open to meeting new people
Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to classmates, or ask someone if you can sit with them at lunch. Everyone appreciates friendliness, and this is how you start building your network of friends. A simple, 'hi my name is ____' is a great way to start!

Stay organised
Use a planner or a digital calendar to keep track of your schedule, assignments, and important dates. Staying organised will help you manage your time better and reduce stress as you adjust to the new school environment.

Ask for help when you need it
Don't hesitate to ask teachers, counsellors, or classmates for help if you're feeling lost or overwhelmed. Schools have resources to support you, and asking for help shows that you're proactive about your success.

i'd also say try and develop some form of routine when it comes to homework, revision and your free time - it's important to have a good balance of both study mode and relax mode, especially for your mental health :3
