Feeling stressed

I’ve been at home for a while, and lately, I’ve been feeling down, worthless, and stressed at times. Since finishing college, I’ve not been very busy. I had a long break over the summer, and when it was time to go back, I couldn’t find my feet in anything. I mostly stayed at home, and while I was initially happy to have some freedom, that feeling faded over time. I started a Forklift Truck (FLT) course at the beginning of this year, I thought that was where things would fall together but when it came to it during my week there the manager called my uncle to say I wasn’t getting it, which was a huge blow since I was excited about it as a new career path that suited my interest in vehicles and I thought that was my opportunity to get into work. Since then, I’ve been at home for most of the year, struggling to find anything suitable. I’ve been applying to jobs, but so far, I haven’t had any luck. This ongoing lack of progress has left me feeling anxious, frustrated, and overwhelmed. I’ve been finding it really tough and keep bringing myself down, worrying and stressing because I’m not getting any luck yet.

I feel like crap about my situation sometimes maybe even often so I just need to vent at times. I know I keep posting but it keeps bringing me down. Also I have just been stressing what people would think of me atm because everyone else seems to have a job apart from me and people who don't work have a lot of a stigma in society so I'd get humiliated my some people. I just feel negative about things that comes up because there has been other things that haven't gone to plan or worked out and stuff either.

Thanks for reaching out @TheNightmare I can really hear how you are struggling with this at the moment. You are definitely not alone in this though, as I myself (and I'm sure many other people), have felt the same feeling of anxiousness and frustration you describe about future career plans etc. You're so brave for getting it down and venting with us, it can definitely be such a confusing point in life.

Remember we are all here for you and it's important to be kind to yourself <3 Often these things don't happen instantly but all of us here really believe in you and know you'll get there. Whilst it might seem like others are progressing around you, everyone is on their own path and there is no race to get there.
What might be useful during this time is creating more structure within your day - sometimes a bit of routine can help to clear your mind. Eg. Carving out specific time each day to do your hobbies, applications or go for a walk etc.

Keep looking after yourself, we're here for you <3
