Schedule update for Support Groups

Hey everyone,
We'd like to let you know about some temporary changes that will be taking place for our Support Groups weekly schedule.
What’s changing?
From the 9th September, Support Groups will be running Tuesdays to Thursdays & Sundays (and will be closed Mondays).
Why is this happening?
For a few reasons, we've needed to close chats lately and we’ve been seeing a low level of attendance in the Young Carer's Support Chat. To give you a more reliable chat schedule, and to help us manage our resources internally, we'll be temporarily reducing the number of chats that are running.
We know that Support Groups are an important and helpful place for you all to get support and connect with each other. For some of you, these groups are a significant part of your support network, and any change to that can feel challenging or even a little scary. Please know that we and the rest of the community are here to go through that change with you and support you.
We also want to reassure you that this is a temporary change and we aim to run our support groups on more days in the future when we have more internal resources.
Where can I get support when Support Groups aren't open?
The Discussion Boards are here as always for you to reach out for support about anything you are going through. You can also join our weekly Friday chat threads which run from 8-9.30pm.
Childline - offers information, advice, and confidential counselling to anyone aged 18 and under. You can call them on 0800 1111, or you can head to their website to access their webchat service.
Our Crisis Messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. To start a text chat, text THEMIX to 85258.
Samaritans are reachable by phone and email 24/7. Whatever you're going through, you can call them on 116 123. They also have a 1-1 webchat service available.
How can I share feedback about this change?
You can share your comments, feedback, or questions about this update in this thread. If you'd prefer to leave feedback anonymously, we have created an anonymous form for you to complete.

As always, thank you all for being patient with us and being a wonderful community

They're only running them Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday
Came here to say this. We were reassured that was temporary too...
Between August and November 2022
I agree as well.

Does that mean YCC is gone for good too?
Will this effect Friday support threads?
No, it's about support groups. The only change stated here is no support chats on Mondays.
Thank you for being so open and honest about your worries around the upcoming changes to the chat schedule. We really do understand that this news might be disappointing, and it’s completely okay to feel let down, frustrated or confused (or anything else you might be feeling about this!). We know how important our support services are to you, and we’re sorry that we can’t offer them as frequently as we had hoped.
We want to reassure you that these changes are necessary while we work to expand our team and secure additional funding whilst we navigate the tricky funding environment most charities like us are experiencing. Our plan and intentions are to bring chats back to cover seven days a week, but it will take time and resources to achieve this. In essence, we hear you and are with you on getting chat back to the more regular schedule but appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition.
Despite these challenges, we want you to remind you that we're still here for you during our open hours. We will always hope to provide the highest quality support to young people, and we're always looking for ways to improve our services, these changes to schedule being one of them.
It is also worth mentioning that you can help us make a difference too by fundraising or simply spreading the word about The Mix. Your support will help us to expand our reach and provide even more young people with the support they need. If this is something you're interested in, head over to our website to find out about all the ways you can fundraise for us.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support, everyone. This community is so strong and special and your well-being will always our top priority.
Have any other questions or worries? Feel free to reach out to us. We're always happy to hear from you.
Sending Hugs, Ella, Aoife, Gemma, Mike and Talie
