July achievements, with a theme of calm!

Hello again! I’m so sorry that this is thread is very overdue! I went on holiday to the Philippines a month ago and am still recovering from the jet lag hahah.

But anyways, I’m here to encourage you to celebrate your monthly wins and share them with the community! And as always, your wins don’t have to be massive, what counts is the impact it the victory has on you!

Feel free to write as many achievements as you wish!

My achievements this month:
- Allowed myself lots and lots of time to rest and reconnected with relatives
- Persevered through a hectic travel process (as it was my first time travelling) and managed to adapt quickly
- Haven’t completely learned how to swim yet, but I’ve learned how to float on the water!
- Took part in the preparation for my older sister’s birthday, where I designed the banner and arranged balloons!

As for July’s theme, it was National Schizophrenia Awareness on the 24th (https://www.rethink.org/campaigns-and-policy/awareness-days-and-events/national-schizophrenia-awareness-day/), and it was also National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month (https://minorityhealth.hhs.gov/national-minority-mental-health-awareness-month-2024)

In relation to July’s theme, whenever you’re feeling anxious, what kind of things help you feel better? What keeps you grounded?

I always make sure that I have a moment to myself for personal reflection — it helps me challenge the thoughts I have. If I’m struggling to make sense of things, I like to write all my thoughts down on a journal, for me, it really helps take the weight off my chest and it seems manageable writing down what’s bothering you on paper.

You’re doing so well for getting through July! I hope everyone has a lovely lovely August!

Kai

Aw I bet going in holiday was amazing!!. Well done it sounds like you had a very good July. For me one of the things I enjoyed was going to my local neurosiversity hub for adults and attending a regular art club where I would bring my adult colouring books with me and colour as a way of grounding my thoughts and keeping myself busy whilst job hunting and other things too.
