Feeling alone in general

I often feel alone with my struggles and when I’m belittled or frustrated. I wouldn't mind someone to just talk to like PM without being judged and who can relate to me. I also lack people to discuss my interests with, like cars, which I’m very passionate about and hope to own some day. My friends aren’t into cars or influencer boxing as much as I am. I follow boxing events featuring KSI, Deji, Anesongib, Tyson Fury, and Tommy Fury but don’t pay for the fights. I also enjoy car YouTubers, including one who reviews and sells cars and has grown significantly since starting. My current interests, especially cars, seem to be something most people appreciate only to a certain extent, and I worry that talking about them endlessly might bore others. Is anyone in the same boat? What shall I do about this?

    Hi @TheNightmare
thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you are going through some difficult feelings, these can be very isolating and make you feel alone. But there are people out there who are dealing with the same or similar struggles, as well as battling feels of belittlement and frustration.

Regarding lacking people to discuss your interests with, have you tried online communities such as Facebook Groups or subreddits for cars and boxing? There may also be local groups or related events in your area too. Youtubers tend to have strong communities and fanbases too, have to tried reaching out to other fans and viewers?

It definitely is difficult to find people who share the interests to the same extent, but I personally love learning new things, especially from people who are so passionate - I'm sure many people feel the same.

    Best wishes,
    Fiona

Hey, @fiona333, yh it's all tough.

Not tried Facebook or redit groups, I worry credit can be toxic too, these forum type places can be toxic. Yh they do have communities not sure where though. Hopefully I find some people maybe I could talk to my current friends about it too and if they get bored I'll tone it down and maybe when I get a job I'll find people with similar interests.

Thanks so much for replying and best wishes to you too.

Hi @TheNightmare have you thought about starting a blog or something similar? This could be a useful outlet to talk about some of your interests and find your audience. People read and connect with columns in magazines and online all the time, so this could be a start in finding friends with similar interests to you?

@jayne26 not thought about a blog but might be something I could think about. How would start one?

Hi @TheNightmare I know there's a website called 'wordpress' that I believe you can use as a platform to start one :)
