Hey friends,

The rising cost of living is definitely a stressful topic, and it's impacting all of us in different ways. This is an on-going conversation to share your feelings and experiences – vent, celebrate small wins, or ask for advice.

Let's Start with Feelings:

Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone. Rising shopping prices, bills, and rent can feel like a constant weight. How are you doing?
Worried about the future? It's natural to be anxious. Share your concerns and see if anyone else relates.
Frustrated or angry? Completely valid too! This situation is tough, and this is a safe space to express those emotions.

Remember: There are no wrong answers here! I'll be back next week to continue the conversation but you are not alone with this and everyone is here to listen 💡

It does get a little bit scary you know, hopefully things get done about it. I think a few things are being done like they have increased minimum pay to £11 an hour or something so that's a positive, I'm currently looking for work and it makes me a bit more motivated that I'll be getting a bit more. I think more needs to be done though like a lot of people are struggling who are working up to 7 days a week long hours, it's scary for me as I worry about my future as it is but also its really upsetting to hear hard working people still struggling.

I also feel this way too @FordRanger because I will be honest it is quite scary right now especially with how the UK is going through a major cost of living recession. However, I am hoping things will start to slowly get better especially for young people specifically in employment. I'm also currently seeking out employment just after finishing a traineeship/apprenticeship and I will it can be quite tricky trying to find work and especially a job you love too. Im always here if you need someone.

@ella Im glad you posted an article/thread about this because it is actually quite relevant to lot of young people right now and ones who are currently looking for housing and realising that mortage costs are so so high than they have even been. Also, employment is a massive thing as well because I personally feel like the goverment think we young people are just 'lazy' when in fact we are not and there are actually not enough jobs for young people. They want us to get jobs but dont even supply the right support for it. Also, one of my worries about the cost of living is being finacially stable in the future because I want to start working as soon as I can to try and start my pension early so then in the future I have enough money so I can look after myself and my family. I hate the thought of being finacially unstable and it scares me sometimes. I just wish the government would start doing more things which will properly benefit young people today.
