Wen a situation arises where something goes wrong and they say 'I could really cry' is it coz of other stuff aswell?
Is catastrophising ppl a normal condition?

    @ellie2000 It could be a multitude of reasons, there might be other stuff going on for them that day or longer term, or it might be that they have a higher emotional sensitivity than others might have in reaction to certain events.

    Catastrophising is quite common and often happens when people are experiencing an intense negative emotion such as anxiety or sadness

    I wouldn't necessarily try to correct others when they are catastrophising in the moment if they seem pretty upset, but maybe later when they are calmer so a more clear and logical conversation can be made

    It's something that people can work on in therapy such as CBT
