Forum reshuffle ๐Ÿ”€

We're due a bit of housekeeping with the forum structure. The mod team have been looking at the boards to see if we can merge or remove anything to keep this place simple to navigate.

With that in mind, we made a couple of changes:
  • Student Life & Education has been merged with Work & Volunteering to create Work & Study
  • Care Experienced Zone has been absorbed by Home, Law & Money

Work & Study seem like a natural pairing, and this is actually one of the information categories on The Mix's main website, so this feels like a sensible change.

Since its creation a few years ago, the Care Experienced Zone hasn't seen very much activity. That's not the end of the world - when a forum is quiet, we look at whether it could easily be merged with another. If the topic is distinct enough we'll usually keep it separate, but if it makes sense to merge it, we'll do that instead to make things simpler. In this case, it felt sensible to merge it with Home, Law & Money.

In all of this, we wanted to preserve the recently created Neurodivergence forum. :)

The end goal for the mod team is to make sure that each forum has a distinct purpose, and that it's used enough to justify its existence on the discussion boards. We try to avoid keeping forums around if they're either too quiet (because nobody likes a quiet forum) or if their purpose isn't clear.

Please do leave any thoughts or questions below โคต (we may review this in future!)

Oh, and there are a few great member posts that were pinned in Care Experienced Zone that will stay pinned in HL&M but we might bundle them into one post. :)
