@FordRanger I understand it's really difficult feeling a sense of purposelessness. I have been off from college since the start of May which has been really long and difficult. I only found out recently that I benefit from structure, which I get from volunteering as it gets me up at reasonable times and helps me know what day of the week it is. In the past I've really struggled during holidays with my sleep schedule (and I still do) so I get how difficult it can be to change. I used to wake up as late at 5.45pm which is why it really helps me to have commitments.

Have you looked into volunteering? It's very flexible and would help give you skills for a job, and it doesn't have to be a massive commitment - it could just be one hour a week. Or maybe something like offering a dogwalking/pet sitting service? It may help if you get something like a voluntary job as it might put your parents at ease as well as giving you something to do that gives back to the community. It sounds like your parents want the best for you and are possibly frustrated at the situation. Nevertheless it's still extremely difficult when there's strain on family relationships.

I currently volunteer at Oxfam where I price books/CD's/DVD's and put them on shelves, as well as various other tasks.

Do you think you'd want to go back to college? They may be able to help if you express your concerns, there are also a lot of hybrid/online courses available now too that may be of interest?

It's great that you've identified what's not going so well and possible solutions, it's just trying to think about what would work best for you.

    Hope you're doing okay

@FordRanger i think ur right u wanna earn money and u feel like u want a purpose by having a job but u dont wanna like work in a 9 to 5 job, which is actually rlly good, ik u like working with cars but had some trouble with not having space to store the cars or something but dont give up maybe u could rent a space but in the meantime u obvi need money to do that, as @lunarcat522 said volunteering should defo be something to look into, as u would have a purpose and would enhance ur cv which would help u get a job, start off small and if u like add on hours, it could be a case of if u stay for a couple months then they might pay u and u could work ur way up or something, hope this helps. sending hugs <3
