I hate having epilepsy

spacedogspacedog Posts: 1,192 Wise Owl
Get up too early in the morning, have seizures, not enough sleep, have seizures - I'm not worried about it but it is just so annoying - managed to smash two glasses filled with orange juice on the floor yesterday and then nearly fell into all that glass. Oh well, I mean others do have it much worse off than me so I can't really complain about my ruined orange juice - although i would have loved my drink if I had the chance.

    Hello @IainJammyboy
I hear that having seizures is making you feel annoyed and overwhelmed. Even though you mentioned not being worried anymore, it's clear that the situation is having an impact on your everyday life and your feelings. You also mentioned believing you don't have a right to complain about your medical condition too much because some people have it worse and the consequences you have faced (i.e. the wasted orange juice) are not that important, however they do affect you in a big way and talking about it even if it's to complain may help you face the situation a little better. How are you feeling now?

Also, in this heat orange juice is really nice so I understand the frustration and hope you got to drink some!

I am so sorry to hear about seizures and that you didn’t get to drink the orange juice. I don’t know a lot about epilepsy but I hope you get the help you need.

@hastings1066 that's ok - I'm getting the help I need for it, on the right medication but it's just some mornings when I don't get enough sleep stuff like that happens - anything less than around 7 hours of sleep

I hope you will be okay. Like @hastings1066 , I also do not know a lot about epilepsy however, I can relate to not sleeping enough as I have difficulty sleeping and staying asleep. Usually I sleep for 1-3 hours, typically around 3am or 4am. It is really frustrating. Just like you said, I know that others have it much worse off than me and I wish things in my life can act as smoothly as I expect it to be. However, all we can really do is take the necessary steps to improve our condition. Even if there is nothing much we can really do and it is annoying, we must find alternative ways to cope to prevent hopelessness taking over. Although deep in my heart I do not wish for anyone to suffer and for there to be a quick easy solution to our problems, I sincerely hope that you do not lose hope and continue to stand tall.
